June 19, 1956
A regular meeting of the Board of B~ldermen of the City of
Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hall~~in Riverside, at.~8:00:p~.
and upon a roll call, aldermen Clark, Nelson, Traugott and Young were
present, Klamm and Scrivner were absent and Mayor Filger calling said
meeting to order.
Minutes of June 5, 1956 meeting were read and accepted.
Treasurerts report for month of Nlay, 1956 was read and
accepted.
Pair. Tomlinson wanteca permission to have trailer at his
Horse Barn north of Nir. John Brenner8s douse and East of I3ighw..~y 71,
as quite a bit of damage was done to hisbarn and the animals ~rere quite
valuLzble. After a discussion of the matter, Nir. Tonlinson filled in
application for business license and also '~railer.-licemmse permit.
Charles ZA~eir of the Junior Chamber of Commerce of Parkville,
inquired if the City of Riverside would waive the Fire Works permit
for them so they could sell fine works in Riverside, but after it
was expla`.ned to him it would not be possible, he didn't know whether
they would purchase a permit t o sell s arse .
The re::pon Nelson moved that P°:r. D. L. Swetnam building
permit for house be approved and also E. H. Young's remoakeling permit
of 'nis store be a~?proved, seconded by Clark, the roll w~~s called and
votes trere as follows: Clark-aye; Rielson-afire; Klartun-absent; ~:cr'vner-
~~}~Traugott-aye; and Young-aye;
Thereupon Nelson moved that Bill No. 246 be.ng bill appropriating
money out of the ~,eneral fund of the City ~' Riverside, Missouri, for the pay-
ment of certain indebtedness as follows be placed on its first r._ading,

Clark moved that rules be suspended a.nd. Bill No. 2L~6 be
p12 ced on 9.ts second reading, seconded by Nelson, the roll was called and
votes were as follows: Clark-aye; Klarr~sn-absent; Nelson-aye; Scrivner-absent;
Traugott-aye; and. Young-aye; Bill No. 216 was accordingly read.
Nelson moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 246 be placed
on its third reading anal upon pass?me of same become 8rd. Pdo. 21.}.5, seconded
by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as follotrs; C1<rk-aye; Pelson-aye;
PClarrr,~-absent; Scrivner -absent; Traugott-a~Te; Young-aye; and Bill No. 246 was
accordingly r ad, approved by Mayor Filger and became Ord. No. 245•
After a lengthy discussion was had rer<rding the purchase of
a new police car, Young moved that the City purchase a new automobile at
the best bid obtainable within the next 10 days, seconded by Clark, the Nelson-
roll w ^s called and votes were as follows: Clark-aye; Klairnn-ri~crivr~er- ay
absent; Traugott-aye; and Young-aye;
nelson moved meeting adjourn, seconded by Clark, meeting adjouned.
