January 4, 1955 A regular meeting of the board of aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri was held January 4, 1955, at the city Hall 8:00 p.m, and upon a roll call, aldermen: Clark, Klemm, Nelson, Panus and Scrivner were present, Mayor Filger calling said meeting to order. Minutes of previous meeting December 21, 1954 were read and the correction of inserting paving in lieu of cement regarding Riverside Drive in Theatre paving the entrance thereto, the minutes were then approved as read. Collector's report for month of December, 1954 was read. Police report covering receipts for year 1954 was read. Thereupon Klemm moved that Bill No. 175 being a bill authorizing certain indebtedness to be paid out of the general fund of the city of Riverside by the treasurer as follows: Mason Motors (Police Car) $2,053.99 Communication & Electronics Inc. (Radio for police car 471.06 be placed on its first reading, second by Scrivner, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Clark-aye; Klemm-aye; Nelson-aye; Panus-aye; Scrivner-aye; Young-absent, and Bill No. 175 was read accordingly. Thereupon Nelson moved that rules be suspended and that Bill No. 175 be placed on its second reeling, second by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Clark-aye; Klemm-aye; Nelson-aye; Pan$-aye; Scrivner-aye; Young-absent, and Bill No. 175 was accordingly read. Thereupon Klemm moved that rules be suspended and that Bill No. 175 be placed on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ordinance No. 175, second by Nelson, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Clark-aye; Klemm-aye; Nelson-aye; Panus-aye; Scrivner-aye- Young-absent, and Bill No. 175 was accordingly read, approved by Mayor Filger and became Ordinance No. 175. Thereupon Klemm moved thatthe two applications for building permits of Little Village, Inc. be approved, second by Scrivner, the roll was called and votes were as follows, Clark-aye; Klemm-aye; Nelson-aye; Panus-aye; Scrivner-aye; Young-absent. Young is present at this portion and remainder of meeting. A discussion was had regarding the hiring of policeman for Riverside and u on motion by Klemm that John Clark be hired at the rate of pay of 300.00 per month subject to call 24 hours a day and 7 days a week; pay to commence at thetime he establisheQ residence in the city of Riverside and assumesthe duties of policeman for a 90 day trial period, Clark second the motion, the roll was called and all voted in Pavor.
