presented two ordinances, one ~'or permission be given to the
Tc:eatre to landscape the ri~1t of ~aay on the west side of road
zo the theatre and th., u„r,er vrdin~~c~ was restricting the type
of vehicles and load limit on the road which the theatre obtained
permission to pave last fall, A discussion was had regarding
tr~esetti~~o cmdinances and it was decided Aldermen, Clark, Nelson
and Young would meet with Mr. Stewart the following morning,
March 16 anc aFrree on the landscaf::-ing to be done, In regards
to passing an ordinance restricting the type of v=~hic~es and
load limit to go over the paved street, there are several
ordinances governing the type of vehicles, but it was requ~_sted
that Mr. Stecaard obtain more information r:~garding load limit
and then peescnt the matter to the council,
Thereupon a proposed ordinance levying; a license tax to
be paid by all persc,ns, 'firms or corporations eng~:ged in the business
of supplying :rater to residential, commercial anc industrial users
withinthe City of Riverside, Missauri, providing for the method and
time of pa~rin~; said tax, and provicing penalty for violation hereof,
was read, N?r. holloway of the P-~rkville water company expressed
his opinion and a discussion regarding this m ttFr was had. Mr. Hollo-
way advised the company was not receiving the maximum peg-cent of
profit allowed by the Missouri Public Service Commission; that
their operation expense wc~s so greet he did not know row a tax
could be raid by their company without increasing; the water rate.
The c:=nnc-il advised that it would be in order for him to secure
figures on :rater sold in Riverside and then perhaps a license tax
could be worked out. Mr, ~~ollo'..ay would present these figures at
our next reg~zlar meeting.
The~eut~on a f fifteen minute recess was had. The meeting
reconvenianed, Ma~ror Filger c~~lling meting to order and upon a
roll call, Aldermen, Clark, Klemm, Nelson, Panus, Scrivner and
Young d,~ere present.
It was decided to have the follo~~ing judges from the
three wards to .:ork in the election:

Thereupon Panus moved that Blll No. 181{. providing for the
appropriation of money :rut of the general fLmd of the City of
Piverside, Missouri for the payment of certain indebtedness as
f 11ows:

~,ye; Scrivner-aye; Young-aye; and Bill No. 18l{. was accordingly read.
Thereupon Klamm moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 18La.

Ord. No. 183, second by Panus, the roll was called and votes were
as follows: Clark-aye; Klamm-aye; Nelson-aye; Panus-aye; Scrivner-
aye; Young-aye; and Bill No. 18L{. was accordingly read, approved by
Mayor Filger and became Ordinance No. 183.
