OF BOARD Ob' ALDERMEN OF
CITY OF RIVERSIDE,
MISSOURI
A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of
Riverside, Missouri was held July 19, 1955 at 8:00 P.M. at the
City Hall. Upon a roll call, Aldermen, Clark, Klamm, Nelson,
Scrivner, and ~'oung were Present, Traugott, Aj~sent and Mayor Filger
ca.]_ling said meeting to order.
Mr. McManus, who audited our books approximately
one year ago a.sk=d for permission to audit the books again and
thought perhaps it would cost from ~~125 or ;135, but the council
decided to disnnss the matter and c~r-;u1d let I.1r. McManus know
at alater date.
Mr. Batliner advised regarding the road on the
rrest'side of his property and that the person to contact regarding
the widening of this road would be Mr. Tn1, L. Buckner, 118 North
Hardesty Street, Kansas City, Missouri, and it was decided to
.:rite him and ask if he would come to one of our council meetings,
so the muter could be discussed.
The re~:pon Clark moved that Bill No. 201 being a: _
bill amending Sections 2 and 3 of Ordinance No. 189 by providing
that the occupation license fee to be paid shall bethe sum of `75.00
per month payable on or before the 15th day of each month, be placed
on its first reading, second by Young, the roll was called and votes
wire as follows: Clark-aye; Klamm-aye; Nelson-aye; Scrivner-aye;
Traugott-absent; Young-aye; and Bill No. 201 was accordingly read.
Thereupon Klamm moved that rules be suspended and
bill T?o. 2~1 be placed on its second reading, second by D?elson, the
roll ~,aas called and votes were as follows: Clark-aye; Klamm-aye;
A?elson-aye; Scrivn~r-aye; Traugott-absent; and Young-aye; Bill No.
2C1 was accordingly read.
Thereux~on Nelson moved that rules be suspended anc
Bill No. 201 be placed on its third reading and upon passage o~ same
become Ordinance No. 200, second by Clark, the roll was called and
votes were as follows: Clark-aye; Klamm-aye; Nelson-aye; Scrivner-aye;
Traugott-absent; Young-aye; and Bill No. 201 was accordingly read,
a,roved by P`~~yor ~4_lger and became Ord. No. 200.
Klamm reported he contacted Dr. sagle regarding
the burning of animals and thought Dr. Eagle wasdoing everything
b.e could to keep the complaints down to a minimum. He has a
ga_s incinerator in his basement and was using the furnace to
dis pose of the animals and other waste materials.
A letter was received from Mr. Dorsey requesting
that copy of ordinances passed after Ordinance No. 169 be sent to
him with the exception of Ordinances covering disbursements.
Young reported that since the lastcouncil meeting
it was requested by a person, nacre unknown, that the Cit~r have
an ordinance restricting the munber of animals which could be kept
on certain size properties or land. A proposed ordinance was read,
but the council agreed this ordinance did not cover enough animals
and sr.ould be more thorough.
Klarm moved th>~t Building permit of Orville A.

for residence be approved, second by Nelson, the roll was called
and all voted in favor.
Young reported that he received prices on signs
for the naming of the streets and roads in Riverside, and thought
it would be b_:st for the sign committee to meet so as to count the
comber of street. and road sib s needed.

Thereupon Scrivner announced there would be a
meet~_ng of the Special Road District the first Saturday in August,
or August 6, 1955 at 8:30 a.m. and thought it would be for the good
of riverside to have a member or members of the council to represent
the City, as this sheeting isthe one ~ivea°sde is to be informed
as to the amo nt the Special Rod District will spend on roads in
said c it fir.
Tr~er.eupon Nelson moved that Bill No. 202 being
a bill provic;ing for the appropriation of money out of the general
fend of theCity of Riverside, Missouri, ~'or the payment of certain
indebtedness as follows;

Thereupon Klamm moved that rules be susp ended and
Bill No. 202 be :laced on its third reading and upon passage of same
become Ord. PIc. 201, second by Clark, the roll was called and votes

a cproved by Mayor Filger and became Ord ~nc,_nce No. 201.
Thereupon Klamm moved meeting adjourn, second by
~'oung , meting adjourned.
