A reF~l~.r meeting of the Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside,
Mi~~ouri was held at the City Hall in Riverside, October 18, 1955 at
8:'0 p.m. ?~t.on a roll call, aldermen Clark, Nelson, Scrivner and
Young were present, Klamm, and Traugott, absent, and Nayor Filger
calling :-:aid me tiny; to m der.

Mr. Filger re__,orted th.e County Sanitarian Mr. Charles advised him
that the race track w~.s not making proper disposition or the p~~pers
and other trash and that he should either be clo::ed down or correct
this sit~.latinn, and Mayor rilger agreed to advise P'ir. Briece of this
matter.
The co until requested the Marshall to count the trailer spaces in
each of the trailer co urts and make such report in triplicate, one for the
collector, one for City Hall and one zor the police records. This infor-
mation to be gotten for next meeting.
Clark moved that we purchase stop watch from Mr. C. E. Atwell for
thirty dollars, second by Scrivner, the roll was called and votes were
as follows: Clark-aye; Scrivner-aye; Nilson-aye; Klamm-absent;
"'raugott-absent and Y~?ung-aye;
The council discussed the procedure to be followed in appointing
future deputies in Riverside, Miser uri, which is: The marshall shall
approve and recommend such person or persons he thinks would be good
forsuch job to the council, the police committee, the Mayor and
Police Judge, and if all approve, then he may be appointed deputy.
Scrivner moved that Roy R. Gresham and Ervin r'elts be appointed
deputies and that the Marshall appoint Roy Gresham to drive the police
car as relief officer in Riverside, subject to the Police Judge+s
approval, second by Nelson, the roll was called and votes were as follows:
Clark-aye; K~~rsrn-absent; Nelson-aye; Scrivner-aye; Traugott-absent;
Young-aye;
Xoung and Scrivner of the Police Committee recommended to the
council that Mr. Earl Phelps be deputy in Riverside and to act in the
capacity designated by the m<,rshall.
4f ter a discussion was had regarding pay for relief policeman, the
Marshall advised the council it would be agreeable with him if the :25.00
allowed for such relief work be paid to him and he would in turn pay the
person or persons who would do the relief days, or he may do the relief
work himself and kFep the pay. It Baas also decided to pay the

Thereupon Scrivner moved that Bill No. 109, being bill providing ~?~~~~~
for the appropri- tion ofmoney out of the general flznd of the City r~'~ ., ;, .
of Riverside, Misso uri, for the payment of certain indebtedness as

Nelson moved that rules be suspended and bill No. 209 be placed on
its second r:~ading, second by Clark, the roll was called and votes were
as follows: Clark-ale; Klamm-absent; Nelson-aye; Scrivner-aye; `Traugott-ays;
Young-ale; and Bill No. 209 was acoordingly read.
Thereu,on Scrivner moved that rules be suspended and bill No. 209
be placed on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ord. No. 208
second by Nelson, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Clark-aye;
Klarm-absent; Nelson-aye; Scrivner-aye; `^raugott-a~eent; Young-aye;
13111 no. 209 was acc m dingly read, approved by Mayor Filger and became
Ord. No. 2.08.
