HomeMy WebLinkAbout1955-11-15Minutes of Regular Meeting of Board of A]d ermen of City of Riverside P'iissouri November 15, 1955 A regular Meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Mo. was held in the city hall ':.n R~~_verside, November, 15, 1955 a~ 8:00 P.M. and upon a roll call, aldermen Clark, Nelson, Scrivner, Traugott, and Young were present, Klemm absent and Mayor F'iger calling said meeting to order read. Minutes of November 1, 1955 were read. and approved as Treasur xis report for month of October, 1955 was read a~lxsx~ax Mayor Filger retorted on the vacating of Fiber Road as the hearingwas November 15, at 7:00 p.m. prior to the regular council Meeting. There were no people opposed to the vacatinr_,of said road. and procedure to vacate said road is being completed. Aelson moved that rules be suspended and Bill~•No. 213 be placed on its first re^ding, said Bill being for the purpose of vac=~tinp_, Filger Road in Brentcrest, a Subdivision of land in the Eity of istiverside, Platte County, ivlissouri, second by Clark, the roll was called and votes were asfollows, Clarkpaye; Klemm-absent I~?elson-aye; Scrivner-aye; Tr~~ugott-aye; and Young-aye; and bill No. 213 was accordingly read. Scrivner moved that rules bd suspended and Bill No. 213 be placed on its second reading, second by Nelson, the roll was cxlaed and votes were as follows Klemm,absent; Clark-aye; Nelson-aye; Scrivner-aye; Traugott-aye; Young,-aye; and bill No. 213 was accordingly read. 'Chereupon Nelson rr~oved that Rules be suspended and Bill No. 213 be placed on its third reading and upon passage of same beconoe Ord. No. 212, second by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Clark-aye; Klemm-absent, Nelson-aye; Traugott aye; Scrivner-aye; Young-aye; Bill No. 213 was accordingly read, ~ proved by mayor Filger and became Ord. No. 212. The subject of special road district was discussed and Young suggested the road committee meet with Mr. Dorsey and see what s'nould be done. Thereupon Nelson movea that Biil No. 214 be placed on its first reading, said bill provided the prohibiting the operation of a vehicle while under the inf luence oi' intoxicating liquors or drufs, second by `~crivner, the roll was ca :.led and votes were as follows: Clark-aye; Klemm-absent; Nelson-aye; Scrivner aye; Traugott-aye; and Young-aye; and Bill No. 214 Baas accordingly read. Claris moved that r~~l,°s be susper~d and Bill No. 214 be placed on its secondr~ading, second by Nelson, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Clark-aye; Klemm-absent; Nelson-aye; Scrivner-aye; `Traugott-aye; and Young-aye; and Bill No. 214 was accordingly read. Scrivner moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 214 be placed on its third reading; and upon passage of same become Ord. Ido. 214., second by Traugott, the roll was called and votes were as follows; Claris-aye; Klemm-absent; Nelson-aye; Scrivner-aye; Tra~:gott-aye; and Young-aye; and Bill No. 214 was accordingly read, a^nroved by I~'ayor Filger and became Ord. No. 213. Thereu?~on Young moved th~a Bill No. 215 being a bill arproving the plat of Seven Oaks, a subdivision of` land in the City ot:' Rive~~~-side, Platte County, Missouri, be placed on its first reading, second by Scrivner• the roll was called and votes were as follows: Clark-aye; Iilamm-absent; Nelson-aye; Scrivner-aye; Traugott;aye; and Young;-aye; Bill No. 215 was accordingly read. Thereupon Nelson mo~add that the necessary procedure be followed and transfer the City of Riverside ~ s bank ace punt be transferred to Farmers 'e'xchange Bank in Parkville, Missouri, second by Clerk- the roll was c<a11ed and votes were as follows, Clark-aye; Klamm-absent• P?elson-aye; Scrivner-aye; Traugott-aye; and Young-aye; It was decided to have a special meeting regarding the type of building or buildings to be built for a city hall and other n~cess~ry buildings and play ground. Ther^upon T~"ayor Filger announcedth.at he would talk to T`r, T~'iller of the special road district, and see if he could get them to contribzzte towar°ds the rocking of roads in Riverside. Thereu:~on Tdelson moved that Bill No. 216 being a bill pr oviding for the alzpropriation of ~~~$a~ money out of the general f11nd of the City of Riverside, Missouri, for the payment of certain indebtedness as follows: ~,~. Tdelson moved that rules be suspended and bill No. 216 be placed on its third reading and upon passage of same became Ord. No. 215, second by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Clark-aye; Klamm-absent- Nelson-aye; Scrivner-aye; Traugott aye; Yount;-aye; and Bill No. 216 was accordingly read, approved by Niayor i<'ilS;er and became Ord, No. 215. Thereupon Tdelson moved that the building permits o' the following persons be issued: Roy C. Renner- Business building, E. R. ITon~Ycutt, Riverside Building Corp and D. L. Swetnam, resident$e[~ second by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as follows Clark-aye; Klamm-absent; Nelson-aye; Scrivner-aye; Traugott-aye; and "oung-acre; Ther~i~pon Younp_; moved that meeting adjcu rn, second by Clark, m~rting adjourned.
