HomeMy WebLinkAbout1954-01-05MINUTES OF R EGUI~R N>F ETING OF FsOAisD OF A]G.DERNL'N OF THE CITY OF' R:':VER6IDE, N~ISS:~URI A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of R verside, N;issou.ri was held at the City Hall on January 5, 1954• Upon a roll call, P.lderrr~en, Beach, Clark, Klamm, Scrivner, ~/+NVs and Young were present. The rr.eeting was called to order by T°iayor Filger. Klamm brought up the subject of hiring 'rJard A. Dorsey, Attorney for the City Attorney, either on a monthly basis or hourly basis. The matter was discussed and before an a;-reerr~ent could be reached, it was decided to write Mr.Dorsey a ]e tter requesting that he write us giving us in deta'1 what service the City of Rfi:verside would be entitled to if he wero hired on a monthly basis at ;125.00 per month. P_fter receiving hi.s letter the council could then decide on what rasis he should be hired. Mayor Filer requested that Young write the letter to Nir. Dorsey. Thereupon Roy Renner reorted on the meeting ha.d by the cog,: ittee w' eh w ss to locate prop,~rty in the City of Riverside for Cityr :call, Fi;.ehouse and Post Office. Mr. Renner stated the most reasonable and best suitable pro :e rty which could be found was property north of Nir. Leslie Rennet's house. It would have 150 ft. frontage on Highway 69 on the west ad extends to the creek on the east. On the South is N_r, Leslie'Renner's house and on the North T9r. U~eido's property. The price of this property as quoted by Nir. Il~eslie Renner is X50.00 per foot, but he also stated that the price could possib7ly be lowered, depending; on the type of building to be erected. The council decided that they and the Mayor should look at the property and N!ayor Filger sug,~,ested that they do so Saturday afternoon, 2:00~~^'~, January `i, 1954• Mayor Filger re;?orted on inforrr~ation received from Allen Cl-ievrolet red arding the i~urch~ se of cas for City of Riverside. A 1954 two-door Chevrolet, 6 cylinder and ro extras would cost ~~1358.00, but to date he didn't have price on a truck. Thereupon Panus sug~~ested writing Nir. hnox a letter with cony to T~~rs. Eldridge regardinrc the liquor license on Nrs. ~Tridge's Tavern. Thereupon Panus br~~ught up the subject of the Parkville 'r?ater Company having an application before the Public Service Corranission for public convenience ar_,d r_ecessity in certain portions of Platte County N:onday, January 11, 1954, and thought it would be well for someone from City of Riverside be there to represent said City. Clark sur-„r.;ested that Younz; a.nd Panus '~>e pr~;sent at the he~:ring and also thought Judge Hil-iie~r should go, if the said people were in agreement. Williams(Specia.l Printin for Cityi 30.00 C. E. Atwell (Dec. 31, 1953) 50.00 I. Paulhe (Dec. 31, 1953) 50.00 Upon motion by Scrivner and second by Klamm, Bi_.l No. 13Z was p]Laced „~ on its first reading. The roll was called and the vote was as follows: Beach-aye; Clark-aye; Klamm-aye; Panus-aye; Scrivner-aye; and Young-ayes and Bill No. 131 was read accordingly. Thereupon Panus moved that rules be suspended and that Bill No. 131 be paced on its second reading, second by Klamm., the roll was called and the vote was as follows: Beach-aye; Clark-aye; K7Larr1n-aye; Panus-aye; Scrivner-aye;&`TOUn~;-aye; and Bill No. 131 wa.s read accordingly.
