A regu7~ meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of River-
side was held on June 1, 1951-4., at the City Hall in the City of Riverside
Missouri. Upon a roll call Aldermen, C1ark,Klamm, Nelson, Panus,
Scr.ivner and Younn; were present. Iviayor Filger also presiding at said
meeting.
Minutes of Nlay 1R, 197-I-, were read and approved as read.
Younrreported on itiir. S. A. Thomas coming to see Yzim about two
days after our regular meeting and asked zk~hat had been done regarding
garbage pick ups in the City of Riverside. lie said he could start the
first ~•Iednesday after the 15th of June, ~•~hich would make the first
pick up June 16, 1951-4., so Youn~~ composed a m tice w~ich he read and w`iich
was published in the Platte County Gazette notifying the people of this
service to be had in Riverside free to the people. It was also agreed
that the Committee on the ~Garbag;e matter meet and agree on a hand bill
to b e passed from house to house f urther notifying the people of trzis
service, as not all, citizens had the opportunity to s ee the notice in
the pap er .
Young imported on the r act track matter. Stated the people
who were g;oin~?; totake over the track came to seehim. Young advised
the owners there were several things that had to be worked out and
they' seemed tob e very cooperative. Young told thee. that
first, sornet ing had to be done a'oout their charging for the parking
facilities, w:~ich :r_ade a considerable amount of people parking
alonrr the highway, in peoples y<~:rds, etc. Second, they should
furnish their own policing, end third they sometimes ha.d the races
without wettin~~: down the track which caused considerable dust.
Klarnm reported he did not has-e er ouF h time to secure all the
informationrenardin-; siz ns in Riverside.
Young reported on the gasoline ta.x and all the work which
had been done ar~d work to b e done. lr. Att~~ell read the meters on the
pureps the first of Nlay, auu durin;~ the middle of I•i&y, then again at
the end of Ma:°,= .
Thereupon Youn~~ reported that I~ir. is. I. Iveyer wc;uld come to our
next n,eetin~ and report on the topos;raphy in Riverside.

Thereupon Scrivner reported on the resurfacing; of the Northwood
road and. about passing an ordinance to keep t he .orses,~ from tra.vcl ~.n" on
the black top or asphalt roads in the City of Riverside and upon
Notion by Scrivner and second by Clark that we hav~an ordinance drawn
up bsr the City Attorney regarding keeping norses~,off the black top or
asphalt roads in the City of Riverside, the roll was called and all
voted in favor.
