HomeMy WebLinkAbout1953-09-16I~SINUTES OF SPECIAL P'iEETING Beard ®f Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri A special meeting of the Board of Aldermen of The City of Riverside, T•4issouri, was held at the City Hall on September 16, 1953, at 7:30 p.m. Upon a call of the roll, all of the Board of A]d ermen and the Pia_; or were present. Mayor Filger stated this special rr~eeting rra.s calls d to take care of regular city business in view of the fact we have an accumulation of unfinished business from tTze last meeting. Thereupon Panys requested to b e e xcused from remainder of meeting. Upon motion by Klamm that the minutes of previous special meeting be not put on record as the purpose of the special meeting was not stated at t'r~e meeting, second by Beach, all voted in favor. Upon motion by Clark, second by Klamn that G.W. and B.R. Peelers ar,plication for business building be passed upon and approved. All voted in favor. Upon rr~oticn by Clark, second by Beach, th~.t Mrs. Rose Filger~s al;plication for restaurant be passed upon and approved. All voted in favor •-,M;..__ Upon motion by Young, second by Kalmm, that there be no personal or real property taxes in the City of Riverside, Missouri, motion carried with following vote: Beach-no; Clark-yes; Klamm-yes; Scrivner-no; and Young - yes: A fifteen minute recess was c alled. The meeting reconvened and upon a roll call Alderirien Beach, Clark, &lamm, Scrivner, and Young were present, the r~_ayor also be ink present. It was sugges~d that the City T~Tarshall be allowed a certain sum of money for expenses, but that he present an itemized report covering all expenses incurred while on duty and that said report be presented to to the council so that therefrom a n al lowance f or his expenses could be made. Thereupon Bill No. 121 being a bill providing for the appropriation of money out of the general fund of the 0ity of Riverside, Missouri, for the payment of certain indebtedness as follows: Nellie Brenner p5.00 Lucille Brophy ,;r 5.00 Mrs Alfred Bai ley _ 5.00 T~:rs. Irene Pa~~lhe ( Stationery) 7.L}0 Upon motion by Young ~ d second by Clark, Bill No. 121 was placed on its first reading and carried with following votes; Beach-yes; Clark-yes; Klamm-yes, Scrivner-yes and Young-yes. T=Hereupon Clark moved that rules be suspended and that Bill No. 121 be placed upon its second reading; second by Klamm, motion carried with following votes: Beach-yes; Clark-yes; Klamm-yes; Scrivner-yes and Young-yes. Thereupon Clark moved that rules be suspended and that Bill No. 121 be placed upon its third reading and that upon passage of same, become Ordinance No. 121; second by Scrivner, carried with the following votes: Beach-yes; Clark-yes; Klamm-yes; Scrivner-yes; and Young-yes. Young _~eported on car insurance for Attaell, 4lest and Lernon, Insurance w a.s ordered as the cost would only be ~8 or yp10 per person. Since said insurance was ordered, NIr. ldest could start pe.trolling as of this date.
