HomeMy WebLinkAbout1953-12-01Minutes of Regular T~eeting Of The Board of Aldermen of The City of Riverside, T43s ~ uri A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Mis souri, was held at the City Hall on December 1, 1953, upon a roll call, Aldermen, Beach, C1ark,KLamm,Panus, Scrivner and Young were present. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Filger. Piayor Filger reported tPiat Mayor ,hiple of Parkville, T' ~ :~:• ouri, c,. )c; li~.e tc have a meeting regarding water for the Gity of Riverti:ide, However, it w^s suggested that such meeting be delayed approximately 30 days as there was possibility of a water line being run tbroug~ City of Riverside. The matter of garbage disposal which was aaso to be:'discussed at said meeting would also be delayed. Thereupon it was suggested that the Streets in the City of Riverside be named and the Houses be numbered so that it would bemuch easier to locate people in said city. TJpon motion by young, second by Clark, that Fanus be on a committe of one to submit elan on n^ihing the streets and nlzmbering the houses and th~~t if he does not have a report by first meeting in January, 1951.4., that we take him off of committe, r`otion carried unanimously. Ther•e~z,^on a recess of 15 minutes was declared. Meeting reconvenien~.d, uron a roll. call aldermen Beach, Clark, Klamm, Pamzs, Scrivner and Young; were present, The mayor also being m sent. Thereu"on the police committee suggested that the expense allowance fcr the PSarshall and special policemen be discussed and upon motion by Fanus and second by Klamm that we set up a maximun car allow.-nce of :;?:25.00 for T~".arsha,ll per month a.nd Maximun of 15.00~~'mc;nth for two special policemen as car expense, under- standin g, of course, that the present two special policemen are Mr. Batliner and ptr, Lemon,. and these allowances be not in the nature of :>et pay, but on a monthly review of their reports by the council to see what they are entitled to, motion carried. Thereupon Panus moved that Young, Scrivner and Klamm be a*,pointed as committee to determine in their respective wards where street lights would be necessary and appropriate, second by Clark, motion carried unanimously. TY~ereuron Scrivner moved that Mrs. Davis be employed as Clerk of the Folice Court from December 16, 1953 to April 1, 19514., for a sale-ry of >10.00 per month, second by Clark, motion carried. Thereupon Bill No. 128 being a bill groviaing for the appro- pri•tion of money out of the general fu nd of the City of Riverside Missouri, for the payment of certain irrlebtedrless, upon motion by Panuk and second by Cla-rk, B11; hTO. 128 Eras placed on its first reading. The roll wasc alled and the vote was as follows: Beach-Aye; Clark-Aye; Klamm-Ay e; Panus-Aye; Scrivner-aye; and Young-A-re and Bill No. 128 was acccr dingly read. Thereupon Panus moved that rules be suspended and that Bill ?`do. 128 be pl~.ced upon its second reading, second by Y;lamm, the roll ~.tias ca 17-ed and the vote was as follows: Bcac~-aye; Clark-aye• K18mrn-aye; rams-aye; Scrivner-aye; and Young-aye, and Bill Nc... 12$ was accordingly read. Thereupon Cl~~_rk m:.wed that r~_:les be suspended and that Bill ??o, 128 be placed upon its thf~d reading and that upon passage of same b~-'come Crdin.~~nce No.128, second by Scrivner, the roll was called andthe vote was as follows: Beach-aye; Clark-aye; Klamm;a~e; Panus-aye; Scrivner-aye, and Young-aye !nd Bill No. 128 ~as accordingly read, declared passed, and was approved by Ma~ror :Filger, andbecame Ordinance No. 128.
