HomeMy WebLinkAbout1953-08-04MINUTES OF REGTiI,AR M[~TING OF The Board of Aldermen of The City of Riverside, Missouri August L[., 1953 A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City o Missouri, was held at the City Hall on August !~, 1953, at Upon a ca_11 of the roll, all of the Board of Aldermen and were present, the Mayor presiding at such meeting . f Riverside, 7:30 p•m•; the Mayor Thereupon;the Mayor: introduced Mr. Ellis, a Certified Public Accountant, who had previcusly talked about servicing and setting up the City of Riverside, Missouri records. Since this matter had not been discussed and there seemed to be no rush regarding same, Mayor Filger would give Mr. Ellis an answer latter. Thereupon Mayor Filger called upon a repro t from Mrs. Swartz, Chairman of Sanitation Committee. Mrs. Swartz reported that Dr. Jones visited the Greenc~s Trailer Court and N:rs. Green was very cooperative. Dr. Jones being of the opinion the major Jiff iculty was garbage disposal. Rather than make a written report, Dr. Jones preferred to be at our next regular meeting and give an oral report regarding same and Mrs. Swartz is to notify him to be present. Thereu~:on Filger reported on the request of Tvir. UJilliams of the Lions Club for permission to deputize eight of his civilian def ense workers to work at Riverside Stadium din ing the Rodeo and it was agreed to do so. Thereupon City Car License w-re to be m dered by I~iayor Filger. A recess of 15 min. was declared. The meetin;~~ reconvened, upon a roll call all of the Board of Aldermen and M~,ror were present. Lowell Brenner counted ballots as result of election for marshall of the City of Riverside, Mss sours and reported as follows: Charles E. Atwell 101 Frank 'rlard 10 C. J. Cox 1 Upon motion by young, seconded by Clark, it was unanimously voted th at pu^ cY;a.se order forms be secured and made out in f~,,~}~c~, fo~,g~,v~ry item purchased, each purchase not to exceed ~p50.00;Or5ai~c~ Forms to b~e 'signed by Mayor and Acting City Clerk. Original sent to concern from who purchase is made and duplicate retained in file. Thereupon Bill No. 117, being a bill canvassing the returns of the judges of the special cat y election held on August 1.~., 1953 for the olfice of City I~Zarshall and declaring the results thereof and providing for an issuance of certificate of election . Upon motion by Panus, second ed by Beach, Bill No. 117 tras -,.laced upon its first reading. Klamn, Scrivner, Clark, Young, Beach and Panus voted in favor of said Bill. Scrivner second ed the motion an d Klamn, Clark, Scrivner, Young, Beach and Panus voted in favor of pa~dage of said Bill. Thereupon Panus moved that rl:les be susp nded and that Bill No. 117 be placed upon its third reading and that upon passage of same, becom e Ordinance No. 117, Clark seco~ d the motion, Klamn, Scrivner, Clark, Young, t3each and Panus voted in favor of passage of said Bill, and same became Ordinance No. 117.
