The Board of Aldermen of
The City of Riverside, Missouri
July 9, 1953
A Special Meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of
Riverside, Missouri, was held at the City Hall on July 9, 1953,
at 8:00 P. M. Upon a call of the roll, all of the Board of
Aldermen and the Mayor were present, the Mayor presiding at
such meeting.
Thereupon the P~iayor read the written resignation of 4V. VV. Barry,
as a Member of the City Zon~:ng Commission and upon motion by
Young, seconded by Beach, all of the Board of Aldermen voted in
favor of accepting said resignation.
Thereupon the Mayor was instructed to submit an appointee to
fill the vacancy on the Zoning Commission for approval by the
Board of Aldermen at the next regular meeting.
Thereupon Young moved to pay 500.00 on the bill of ~Iard Dorsey,
seconded by Panus. The motion failed to carry as result of the
following vote: Young yea; Panus yes; Clark, Scrivener,
Beach and Klamm, no.
Thereupon on motion by Beach, seco nded by Klamm, it was unani-
mously voted by the Board of Aldermen to pay in full the bill
of Ward Dcrraey in the amount of x$786.00.
Thereupon Bill No. 111, being a Bill to pay certain obligations
and make certain expenditures by the City as follows:
Missouri Munici al League, X20.00
Frances DeBow, 50.00
Refund to J~hn Scott, 10.00
Ward Dorsey, '786.00
Upon motion by Beach, seconded by Clark, was placed upon its
first reading. Panus, Beach, Clark, Young, Scrivener and Klamm
voted in favor of passage of said Bill.
Thereupon Clark moved that rules be suspended and that Bill No.
111 be placed upon its second reading. Klamm seconded the mo-
tion, and Panus, Beach, Clark, Youn~~, Scrivener and Klamm
voted in favor of passage of said Bill.

Thereupon Clark moved that rules be suspended and that Bill No.
111 be placed upon its third reading and that upon passage of
same, become Ordinance No. 111. Scrivener seconded the motion,
Panus, Young, Scrivener, Klamm, Clark and Beach voted in favor
of passage of said Bill, and the same became Ordinance No. 111.
Thereupon a recess was declared.
The meeting reconvened, and upon call of the roll, all of the
Board of Aldermen and the Mayor were present.
Thereupon Parnzs presented to the Board a report approved by all
of the members of the Road Committee outlining the work needed
in the City of Riverside in relation to its immediate necessity
and estimated costs of materials for such work.
Upon motion by Clark seconded by Klamm, the Board of Aldermen
voted that Panus and Scrivener attend meeting of the Parkville
Special Benefit Road District the Saturday following this meet-
ing and determine if possible what committments the said Road
District would make concerning work needed to be done in the
City of Riverside. The vote was as follows: Beach and Yotmg,
no; Panus, Clark, Scrivener and Klamm, yes.
Thereupon it was moved by Klamm, seconded by Clark, that the re-
presentatives voted in the previous motion be authorized to pre-
sent the report of the Road Committee in full to the Parkville
Sp ecial Benefit Road District as the work needed and requested
by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside on the roads
in Riverside, Missouri, and determine the cost to the City of
Riverside for contemplated work on Valley Drive and South Drive
and obtain a committment if possible from said Road District
that the contemplated work on Valley Drive and South Drive would
not interfere or minimize the other work needed by the City of
Riverside as presented in the Road Committee report. Panus,
Beach, Scrivener, Clark and Young voted yes, Klamm was absent.
