A special council meeting was called to order by Z`:ayor Filger, Sr. Roll call:
Panus, Beach, Young, Scrivner, Klamm, and Clark. All present.
Reason for calling of Special Meeting as stated by Mayor Filger--"Justification of
impeachment of the City Marshal, Vernon Armer."
Mr. Vernon Armer, the Marshal of Riverside was not present. In view of the fact
that 2dr. Armer was not present and had not given a reason why he was not present,
Alderman Panus made a motion, quote "I move that Mr. Armer, City Marshal of the City
of Riverside, having been duly notified of a special meeting by the Board of Aldermen
and tTayor of the City of Riverside duly held for the purpose of impeachment of said
City Pdarshal for reason of dereliction of duty on 6",ay 28, 1953, at 7:30 P.P!!., said
City Marshal having failed to appear in defense thereof a~g be'n in default of laid
notice of opportunity to appear to defend the charges r°-76ou , said City Marshal shall
be impeached by vote of the Board of Aldermen, effective as of this 28th day of May, 1953.
Sec. by Clark. Vote: Beach-yea, Panus-yes, Glark-yes, Young-yes, Scrivner-yea, Klamm,
yea. Motion carried.

x 1'sro request that the Trustee be instructed to pay the sum of $1000.00,

=_ for operation of the facilities of the Riverside Stadium, Inc. for
" _~ the current period ending August 31, 1953 and that Judge Duncan in-
struct the said Trustee to not operate the Riverside Stadium, Tnc..
New Business:
Report from Mr. Dorsey on Riverside Stadium--Quote--"Until yesterday, bfay 27, 1953,
I was under the impression that the occupation license fee of $1000.00 the court allowed
the Ci+y~,of~ R~vrersid was to be paid this week. Yesterday, iAi. Jackson, the attorney
n, a Federal Judge as the Trustee or Guardian for the creditors
and outstanding indebtedness, and Etr. 'falter James, attorneyrfor the new incorporation
who will take over the Stadium if and when it clears of outstanding indebtedness, asked
me for an extension of time on paying for an occupation license for this year so that
they could open the 30th day of Pday, 1953. I felt that the council should make the
decision and I would abide by their decision."
Pdr. James was intorduced to make his request to the council. He said that the
money which was to have been put up, had not been fully paid in and they were short
quite a sum. Could the council allow them to open without an occupation licenaeY
Mr. Jackson spoke next to offer a sulution as he was the attorney appointed as
Trustee to the Riverside Stadium, Inc.
Mr. Jackson offered to consider the paying of this year's license ($500.00) as a
cost ofoperatione allowable because and so as the Stadium could open for business.
The council said that they had an ordinance which states that all places of Business
which had not purchased their 'S1 license must do so before they could purchase their
~~. '52 license.

Roll Call: Beach, Panus, Clark, Young, Scrivner, and Klatnm present.
b1rs. Clark asked h'.r. Dorsey to f orm a motion for her that would properly and 1&gally
suit the purpose needed to give him (2da. Dorsey) the legal means to request Judge
Duncan to cause the Trustee to purchase an occupation license for Riverside Stadium or
not allow them to operate. Pdrs. Clark made the 9t~1i8 motion.-I move that the council

notion carried. A special meeting called for Friday iday 29, 1953, at
5 P.1~:. to find and act on results of this meeting. Motion to adjourn
by Beach. Sec. by Panus. All alder en voted yes. Carried.
