A special meeting of the Riverside City Council was called to order by Mayor
Filger. Aldermen present: Young, Beach, Clark, Brenner, Renner, and Scrivner.
Minutes of April 7, 1953, Council meeting were read and approved.
The special meeting was called to discuss the legality of Ferd Filger, Jr. and
Ferd Filger, Sr's building permits. Ordinance No. 26 was reviewed.
Victor Fanus asked to be sworn in as alderman since he has qualified for said office.
The City Clerk accepted his oath of office, and his certificate of qualification
was granted.
All aldermen were asked to look at the buisness application signed by Ferd Filger,
Jr., and asked to express their attitudes. The majority agreed that tanks of in-
flammable liquids should be buried in the location of proposed filing station of Ferd
Filger, Jr.
The letter to the Board of Adjustments was read. Each alderman was given the
opportunity to discuss the letter. The letter was then turned over to the Chairman
of the Adjustment Board, Leslie Renner.
Young submitted an ordinance concerning inflammable liquid storage tanks.
Recess:
Roll call: Aldermen present: Young, Beach, Clark, Brenner, Scrivner, and Victor Panus,
who is replacing Roy Renner.
Roy Renner's family expressed their deep appreciation for tiie Council's thoughtful-
ness in their time of grief.
A motion was made by Victor Fanus that applicant, Jr.b'ilger, file a new application
properly filled out for a legal building permit since the former application was not
complete in that it did not contain the proper information according to the Building
Permit Ordinances. Sec. by Beach. All Aldermen voted yes. b~otion carried.
Victor Fanus moved that a committee of 3 be appointed to study the most p~voper
type of ordinance for Riverside, concerning hazards of above ground storage tanks
of inflammable liquids, and report back to the council at the earliest possible time.
Beach, Young, and Klemm were appoint ad. Sec. by Beach. All aldermen voted yes.
LIotion carried.
fl~ayor Filger is to submit names to the zoning commission to fill the vacancies
of Eagle's and Klamms resignations. This is to be submitted at the April 21, 1953,
regular meeting of the council.
DEayor Filger expressed thanks to the outgoing council members for faithful work
as aldermen in the City of Riverside.
