Absent--Scrivner, who is ill. Minutes of January 6, 1953, read and approved. New Business--Mr. Beach told the council that Mr. Ham (County Clerk) wants a map and typed description of the bo~ndrdlB of the city, including the newly annexed area, and he will make a map for the City of Riverside. (Zr. Beach has some of the typed descriptions at his home.) The applications for the job of City Clerk were asked for. Only one letter of application by ~,1rs. Frances DeBow. Motion by Beach that Mrs. DeBow be appointed as City Clerk for 6 month period. Sec. by Brenner. Vote: Brenner--yes; Clark--yes; Beach--yea; Renner--yes; Young-- yes; Scrivner--absent. Vote carried. Per. Filger is to contact Mra. DeBow and finish the business of acceptance or rsjegtion. P,dotion made by Clark to pay City Clerk $50.00 per month. Sec. by Brenner. Vote; Brenner--yea; Clark--yes; Beach--no; Renner--no; Young--yes; Scrivner-absent. Motion void--no quorum on the vote b.causs of absentes. Council will talk of pay after INayor talks to Mra. DeBow. Mrs. Swartz talked on the sanitation problem and her letters of correspondeno• with the health board. Suggest Mrs. Swartz contact the Platte County Health Board at Platte City. Unfinished Business: P~?otion by PAr. Beach that ~.3ayor order election supplies for Franchise grants to the Power and Light Co. and Gas Co. Sec. by Brenner. Voter Brenner-yes; Glark-yes; Beach-yea; Renner-yes; Young- yes; Scrivner-absent. h`otion carried. Motion by Young that Bill ~81 for the clerk to publish the Bi-annual financial statement of the City of Riverside in the Platte County Gaaette and become an ordinance. Sec. By Clark. Vote: Brenner-yes; Beach-yes; Clark-yes; Renner-yes; Young-yes; Scrivner-absent. Motion carried. ~~ Motion by Clark that Bil~ be placed on first reading. Sec. by Brenner. Read- voted-carried. Motion by Brenner that Bill ~~sl be placed on second reading. Sec by Beach. Read-voted-carried. A4otion by Clark rules be suspended and Bill #Fal be placed on third readirg and become Ord. mHl.
