Aldermen present: Beach, Brenner, Clark, =Renner, Scrivner, Young T~Iinutes of meeting of October 21 , 1952 read and ap_-roved. Visitors to counci 1 meeting zaere: ~1rs.Jskridge, T~irs. Schwatts. Judge and i~rs. Swetnam, Nir. and Firs. Louis Reich, from the Green Mills Trailer Court. Also Marshal Armer. N~rs. Arthur L. Davis acted as secret ary to tl~e Borad of Aldermen. Letterto:°NIr.: T~elsh and T•1r. Cole received from T~ir. Dorsey*, read by the council. Aldermen Beach, gives report on Post office. All future correspondence regarding Post Office is to be sent to the Assis~sant Post T~Iaster General, Joseph A. Lawler. Letter from Corps of Engineers, U.S. Army, read to council. T=Teeting scheduled for 1lovember 17, 1952 Judge Swetnam reports no court cases for the month of October. I=iayor Filger is to contact Sherrif Lowrniller in regard to furnishing Riverside frith a Deputy to assist the city marhsal. Aldermen present: Beach, Brenner, Clark, Renner, Scrivner, Young. btinutes of Oct. 21, 1952 read and approved. New Business: Letters to b'~r. ~lelch and b1r. Cole received from Mr. Dorsey-- read by council. Report by Beach on Poat Office deal; All future correspondence regarding Post Office is to be sent to assistant Post 2daster General (Joseph A. Lawler). Literature brought back: 3 blanks for filling in information, one "Petition for Establishment of Post Office" is to have 1 doz. copies made for circulation and signing by people of Riverside., One is fcr the City of Riverside to fill out. One is the suggestion of Post Office sight and men or women for candidate sa Postmaster (after they take the exam). brs. Clark will contact bfra. Bessie Brenner to approach the Republican office holders as well as the newly elected candidates to office, for approval (letters or endorsements) or what ever it takes to get ''operation "Post Office" underway. Mr. Young will contact Mr. Evens for his endorsement of approval. Letter from corps of Engineers, L'...5~ Army read to council. Comment; Several of council will attend meeting--date 17 of Nov. 1952 at 10 A.M. the Fidelity Bldg- Room 302. Judge Swetnam report--No court cases. b4arshal Armor asked regards to warrant serving--Who issues and who serves warrants? (Remind our Mayor to contact Lowmiller about a deputy for this part of Platte County to assist our marshal--paid or not paid--about the problem--when marshal has a commitment paper on a prisoner--why they are not wanting to confine said offender to Platte County Jail? Youn~ is to call Dorsey about '•Is a warrant necessary to make persons, not buying car stickers , force them to buy stickers. Young suggested a letter be written to the Amusement Park applicant asking their plane about a parking area for cars, also, plan or plot of layout. Beach made motion to accept hire. Aleo Railroad and Bus Co Report on Building Code was reviewed--part of recomrlendations were approved-- notes to go to Mr. Dorsey for forming an ordinance.
