The following; people which were elected April 1, 1952; to serve as the board of Aldermen of the city of Riverside; were sworn into office; oaths being given by Mayor ~~i]ger. C. F. Beach; E. F3. Younn; t4'. T. Scrivner; Roy Renner; Frances Clark; and Lowell Brenner. F. F. FilRer, elected for h~3yor of the city o:f Riverside; was sworn into office by L. ;i. Young. The Aldermen, receiving the hir~hest number of votes, in the city Election was chosen to administer the Tbia_~ors' oath. Vernon Armen, elective Iuiarshall was sworn into office by Mayor Filger. .Alderman Beach moved that resignations, signed by Frances Clark and Lowell F;renner, be accepted. Seconded by Alderman Young. Motion carried. Alderman C1,a rk moved that L'. Ii. Young be chosen as president of the Board of aldermen. Potion seconded by Alderman Renner. Motion carried. Alderman Beac'z moved that the council meetings be set and called for each first an~3 third Tuosday oe each month. Seconded by Alderman Clark. h~otion carried. Al Berman Young moved that Armer, Elective P4arshall; does not perform any duties for the city, until he is properly covered with Insurance, and his Auto. covered with Liability Ins. Seconded by Alderman Beach. h9otion carried. DIr. Panus and P~6r.. Shyrock submit applications for building permits which were approved by the council. Alderman Beach moved that bins. Terrys' application for a beer license be disapproved. Seconded bar Alderman Clark. PaIotion carried. Alderman Beach moved that hir. 'JJilliams' application be carried over until next meetinr;, and that fair. Young contact him per- sonally in regard to same. Seconded by Alderman Renner. Aaaotion carried. Continued: Letters were written to the Board of Aldermen, in remard to the appointment of the City Clerk. Ald erman Young, subs ct to P+7r. Dorsey's approval, moved that Ars. Curtis Brenner be appointed as City Clerk, for a period of six months, at X1.00. Seconded by Alderman Renner. b'otion carried. Unfinished Business; Tr"r. Prince's application discussed. Alderman Scrivner moved that I~:r. Pr.ince's permit be held for further discussion. Seconded by =alderman Renner. motion carried. The dumpinr~ of trash on the streets in the City was ^reatly discussed. kr. Scrivner was asked to obtain ini'ormation on public or private clumps now bein~* used in the city. Alderman Young moved that all statements b© approved, as initialed by each alderman and the Mayor. Seconded by ylderman Renner. motion carried. Alderman Beach moved that bill Pio. ?3 be placed upon its first reading. Seconded by ylderman Renner. The roll was ca lled and the vote was as f ollovas: Alderman Beach - yes, Alderman Young - yes, Alderman Scrivner - yes, Alderman Renner - ,yes, Alderman Clark - yes, Alderman Brenner - yes, and bill No. 33 was accordingly read. Issue checks to those who served on the Election bosrd April 1, 152. 'Phe Sum of X5.00 each. Also check to the Platte County Cazett©, printing of ballots - ~21.00, Samuel Dodsworth Co. for election supplies - 515.74; and the K. C. Lithographing; Co. for letterheads - ""22.95•" Alderman Renner moved that rules be suspended and that bill No. 33 be placed upon its s^.cond reading. Seconded by Alderman Brenner. The roll was called and the vote was as follows: Alderman Beach - yes, Alderman Young -yes, Alderman Scrivner - yes, Alderman t3enner - yes, Alderman Clark - yes, ?alderman Brenner - yes, and. bill No. 33 was accordingly read a second time. Alderman Young moved that rules be suspended and that bill No. 33 be placed on its third reading; and be passed and become known as Ordinance No. 33. Seconded by Alderman Scrivner. The rollwas called and the vote was as follows: Alderman Beach - yes, Alderman Young - yes, Alderman Scrivner - yes, Alderman Renner - yes, Alderman Clark - yes, Alderman Brenner - yes, and bill Pdo. 33 was accordingly read a third time, declared passed and was approved by Piayor Fil~;er.
