Minutes of council meeting April 16, 1952
Councilmen present; Beach, Brenner, Clark, Renner, Scrivner,
and Young.
Meeting called to order by T'tayor Pi~.ger.
Minutes of meeting April 9, 1952, read and approved.
Old Business:
Mr. young gives report on ti~Jilliams application for a fruit
stand in the city of Riverside, hold for a future date.
Motion by Renner that City of Riverside, post signs, "YO
DUMrING" on the streets or otherwise in the city. t7otion
second by Scrivner. Motion carried.
New Business:
Motion by Renner that Mr. Serivner be appointed as road comm-
issioner of the city of Riverside. Motion second by Brenner.
Motion carried.
Trash burners discussed;
Motion by Renner that Ord. be passed; providing that each
place of business provide covered ttrash burners in which to
dispose of all trash, that can be burned. Motion second by
Young. Motion carried.
The council take up discussion in regard to Dale Z-Jatl~.ns,
owner of the Ace Scale Co, as to whether he should be zoned
for business. Motion by Clark, that Watkins ommply with the
present zoning, until such time that a public hearing be held,
i7ake an Amendment, and zone him in business. Motion second by
Scrivner. Motion carried.
Sixty foot streets in the city of Riverside were discussed.
Motion by Renner that streets be not less than fifty foot
in width. Motion second by Clark. Motion carried.
Motion by Young, that Mr. Ellerbrook assist in the engineer-
ing of the streets, and request of him to give recommendations
for requirements. Motion second by Beach. Motion carried.
Motion by Beach that all residence, duplex, apts, and hotels
be set back six feet from the side property line. Motion ses-
ond by Scrivner. Motion carried.
Motion by Clark that non-conforming uses cannot be continued
after sale if located in boundaries oP District A. or which
portion of District B. as is not with in boundaries of Distri et
D. Motion se¢~nd by Renner. Motion carried.
Motion by Renner, that Mrs, Greens request to be zoned for
light industry, be rejected. Motion second by Brenner. Motion
carried.
April 16, 1952 Continued.
Motion by Clark that bill No 3lE. be placed upon its first
reading. Motion second by Young. Aldermens vote, all in
favor. Motion carried. "AN ORD. ZONING THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE."
Motion by Brenner that rules be suspended and that bill No.3~
be placed upon its second reading. Motion second by Renner.
Pil.dermens vote, all in favor, Motion carried, Motion by Renner
that rules be suspended and bill No 3l.{_ be placed upon its third
reading, be passed, and be some Ord. No 31~. Motion second by
Brenner. Aldermens vote, all in faoor. Motion carried.
