HomeMy WebLinkAbout1994-05-24MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI MAY 24, 1994 A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri an May 24, 1994 at 7:30 p. m. Those present were Aldermen Marshall, Aust, Teters, Owen, Rule and Wedua. Mayor Betty Burch called said meeting to order. It was decided to dispense with the reading of the minutes of May 17, 1994 for the present time, Mayor Burch brought up a discussion on sales tax and how the riverboat gambling will impact City. Riverside is to get X1.00 on each. ticket sold. Mayor Burch and Board of Aldermen discussed the City's Budget for 1994-95 at length. Animal control was discussed - should the City put it an a City ballot - der the residents want to be taxed? Berard of Aldermen will came up with figures to see how much a facility would cast. This will be discussed later. Alderman Aust moved to place moratorium an used car lots in Retail-Commercial District for two years, seconded by Alderman Teters, the vote was Aldermen Marshall, Aust, Teters and Dwen, yes, Rule and Wedua, na. The Board of Aldermen would like to study the used car ordinance and try to upgrade it. City Clerk Grace Kemerling is to make copies of the Used Car Ordinance far the Board and they are to review it and recommend any changes to the Rlanning Carnmissian. Alderman Ed Rule, d/b1a Corner Cafe said he will ask the Board of Zoning adjustment far a five-foot side variance regarding his building a new restaurant at Vivian and NW Gateway. Board of Aldermen will supply the Planning Commission with information an truck, RV, etc. parking in residential areas and would like the opinion of the Planning Commission as soar as possible.
