Those present were Aldermen Wedua, "1"eter^s, rule and Owen; Aldermen Marshall and Aust were ab=>ent. Mayor Betty B~_ir^ch called said meeting tc~ ~=order^. It was decided to dispense with the r^eading of the min~_rtes of December 6 and December 19, 1994 for the present t irne. Dan Peak, :?1@ 4'~latte Valley Ind~_rstrial Park. was present to represent Lest Lotteries and Bill Wood Ford at NW Platte Rc~acl. Best Catteries is going to handle the used cars fr^om Li11 Wood Ford and wants to install a sign stating that the used vehicles are Lill Woods. It appears Lest Latter^ies alr^eady has a Special Use Permit tr_. sell vehicles and this should s~_rffice. This application was approved subject to the payment of fees. Richard Lanning, ^ci@ NW F'l.atte Valley Industr^ial F'ar^k was present to r^epresent Dry Casement at 3@@3 NW Platte Road. I•t appeared Mr. Lanning was not given an application for^ Special Use in Flood Area when he originally applied for b~_rsiness license and has r•~ow been before the Planning Ccmvnission which appr^oved the Special lJse Permit in Flood Area rand now Fie is before the F..roard to approve carne. Alderman Rule moved to apprcrve the Special Use in Flood Area Permit, ser_•onded by Alder^man Teters, the vote was Aldermen Wedua, 'Teters, R~.rle and r_,wery yeas; Aldermen Marshall and A~_rst absent. This was approved subject .to the payment of the fee. Phil Srmwdery 464 N. Hr_ally Court, Kansas City, MO 64116 was present tc~ speak to the Mayor arrd L-+oard of Aldermen regarr_lir~g hi.s request for^ the Gity tc~ inter into an agreement with him to ret~.rrn two acres (m~.~re cm less) of the fourteen acres (more cn^ less) which I-re had donated to the City for a park. He row wo~_rld like to have this por^tiori of the property back. and i.s asking that the •tw~~~ acr^e part ion revert back to Phil Snowden eighteen months after the permanent road is c~~mpleted. Drawings and maps are ~~m file sh~~~wing the locaticrr~ of this property. Mayc~r^ Burch said that John Conley of the Carps of Engineers called her and said the maps showing the Flood F~lanes and Flood Way are in~:tcc~ur^ate ar,d they will prepare r,ew maps shc,wing the exact l+~+cation of the Flood Way and Flood F'lar,es. A copy of letter from Visic,n Cans•tr,_ictian Company, dated Der_ernber 1:~, 1994 to Mrs. Rogers was read. This concerned the improvement of Merririiac Street and her driveway, incl,_iding one tree. A lettter^ dated Decernber^ v, 1954 fr^orn Larry Reece was read, this concerned Jerry Canley's cc,rnplair,t abc,ut the curb a•t Merrimac and Str^athbury Str^eets, A letter^ dated December ~, 1554 from Larry Reece was r^ead concerning the Clark.'s building at c^805 NW 50th Street. This b,_~ildir,g is to be used far storage purposes cnr,ly. 1"here ar^e q~_rite a few cif a1d tires in the back which need to be picked up. Alderrnar Rule moved to place Dill Na. 94-78 ar, its first reading, said bill pr+wides for^ the payment of certain Y I Page ~, Min. of Reg. Alderrnan Wedua rnoverl to place E~till No. 74-78 on its second reading, 'seconded by Alderrnan Teters, the vote was Alderman Owen, aye; Alder^man Teter^s, aye; Alderman Owen, aye; Alderrnan R~_rle, aye; Alderman Marshall, absent; and Alderrnan Aust, absent. Upon the biL1 having been made for p~.iblic inspection pr^ic,r to consideration of the boar^d of Aldermen, tii 11 N.... ~4-78 was passed. A letter frarn Ivan Ubben was r^ead, this concerned the irnpraventent of 5.::nd Str^eet frr_~rn High Dr^ive to Nc+rthwc~od Road. This will be presented to Kansas City, Missr_~ur^i. It was felt thiey waulcl pay one-half of the cast, This pr^o,7ect will probably be dome in 195. A letter from Pete Fullertcm of the F='latte Ca~_rnty Ecar•+cvnic Develc~prnent Ca~_incil was read, wherein he thanked Riverside for making the EDC.:L_uncheon a success. Mayor L-~urch said that the City needs an easement frarn Hydr^o conduit far the wider•+ir•~g of the VanDePc~pulier str^eet over the PN rai'lrr_,ad tracks. It appears Hydra Conduit is not in agr^eernent with the stc+rrii sewer ordinance and will not appr^c~ve an easement. The Mayor said she and the City Er+gineer^ will meet with Hydr~~ rond+_rit tr_+ try to wc~r^k out the problem. A letter dated Decernber^ 7, 1'34 fr^orn American Cablevision was read. A letter (na date) fr^orn Rick Hedgecock was read, regarding the fees •Far adapting an animal. A 1e~tter fr^ont the Platte County Econ..+mic Development Co~_rnci.l was read, this suggested that the City may want to +_rpgrade its mernbersh i p. Alderrnan Teters rnaved that the City upgrade its membership with the Platte Cr_+unty Ecanarnic Development C~~+uncil to the Five Hundr^ed Dollar member^ship seconded by Alderrnan Wedua, the v+~+te was Aldermen Wedua, Owen, Teters, yes; Alderrnan R+_ile, no; and Aldermen Mar^shall and A~_rst, absent. Alderrnan Wedua and Larry Reece met regarding the City's ane-half ton pickup tr~_ick. It was brought ~,+~_tt that a one-ton tr^uck wc:~uld be used tc+ a be•tte+r advantage than the one-half ton. fi I .. F~age ~t, Min. of Reg. Mr. Woalcat, Attar^ney r^e present Ar^gasy, inquir^ed of the Mayer and Board ~~~f Aldermen if Argosy c~~~uld ~_ise the bridge which is on the City's ptar•k property at their temporary site f~~~r the new bar^ge. They will pay One Idol lar for^ the lease, paint it and when they are thro~_rgh ~_ising it they will place it anywher^e the Gity wants it. Mayor Burch is authariaed to look. into the matter far Ar^g~~~sy to use the bridcle.
