WHEREAS, approximately 10 percent of the population of the City of Riverside
is now over the age of 65; and
WHEREAS, these individuals have played a vital role in our community for
many years and are responsible for many of the attributes that make Riverside a
great place to live and work; and
WHEREAS, the City of Riverside currently has a number of worthwhile programs
designed to benefit seniors; and
WHEREAS, the City of Riverside fully supports efforts to spread the word about
these valuable services to the city's senior population;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED that the City of Riverside proclaims
September 2000 as Senior Citizen Month in the City of Riverside.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, we have hereunto set our hand in the County of
Platte, City of Riverside, the 5th day of September, 2000.
