HomeMy WebLinkAbout1993-03-16.r MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI MARCH 16, 1993 A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri on March 16, 1993, at 7:30 p. m. Those present were Aldermen Wedua, Teters, Karr, Marshall and Rule. Keven O~Rourke, 409 NW 65th Terrace, Kansas City, MO 64118, representing A S & W Wholesale of Kansas City, Inc., 535 NW Par^kway, presented business license far said Company. This is for the wholesaling of siding and awnings. This was appr-awed subject to the payment of the fee. Donald S. Sloan, 9803 N. Revere, Kansas City, MO 64154, representing Polymeric Imaging, Inc. 210 NW Platte Valley Drive, presented business license for said Company. This is a company researching special inks far industries. This was approved subJect to the payment of the fee. Jirn Hunt, 12700 NW Castor, representing Dalforth Training, 200 NW Parkway, Presented business license for this Air Mechanic School. The license was approved subject to the payment of the fee. Jirn Hunt, 12700 NW Castor, representing Video Masters, Inc. far Tenant Finish of building at 128 NW Business park Lane. This was approved subject to the payment of the fee. Steve Warger, 919 Antietan, Liberty, MO, representing the Clay-Platte Little League. He said he has talked to the other groups using the area and they have decided on a way to split up the electricity bill and it is agreeable to all parties involved. Mayor Burch said that John Moriority would like to have the information regarding the payment of the electricity bill and she will ask City Clerk Grace Kemerling to contact him. Municipal Court Clerk hLathy Rose presented the Court Report for the month of February to City Clerk Grace Kemerling on March 16, 1993. The minutes of February 16, 1993 were read and approved as car-rected. The minutes of March 2, 1993 were read and approved as corrected. Rule moved that Biil No. 93-17 be placed on its first reading, said bill pr-ovides for the longevity pay increase for Patrick Farrens by X11.23 per month, seconded by Marshall, the vote was Teters, Wedua, marshall, Rule .and Karr aye. i ,,. ~J~ (~" ~~ Marshall rnoved that Bill Na. 93-17 be placed an its second reading, seconded by Wedua, the vote was Teters, Wedua, Marshall, Rule and Karr, aye. Whereupon, the Bill having been made available far public inspection prior to the Consideration of the board of Aldermen, Bill No. 93-17 was passed. Marshall moved that Bill No. 93-18 be placed an its first reading, said bill provides for the payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein, seconded by Teters, the votes was Marshall, Rule, Wedua, Teters, and Karr aye. Marshall moved that Bill No. 93-18 be placed on its second reading, seconded by Rule the vote was Marshall, Rule, Wedua, Teters and Karr, aye. Whereupon, the Bill having been made available for public inspection prior to the consideration of the Board of Aldermen, Bill No. 93-18 was passed. Mayor Betty Burch said that she thought there should be an outline far the people interesting in owning ar running the gambling river-board to complete sa that the committee can study them. Mayor Burch said that City Attorney Dan Witt would like to ga to Iowa and Illinois, namely to Dubuque, Clinton and Davenport, Iowa and Altars and Molene, Illinois, to check out same of the gambling boats. She said City Attorney Don Witt would pay his awn expense and she said she would like to go to check out the Riverboat gambling in the same Cities. The Board were in agreement to pay far the Mayors expense in making the trip to Illinois and Iowa to check out the riverboat gambling matter. It was agreed to have spring clean-up on April 16, 17 and 18, and 23, 24 and 25, 1993. Rule moved that City Treasurer Jean Grogan be relieved of City Employment from April 5 to 7, 1993, seconded by Wedua, the vote was Rule, Teters, Wedua, Marshall and Karr, yes. There being no further business to come before the Board, upon rnation duly made, seconded and passed, meeting ad,7ourned at 8:50 p. rn. ---------C'~~=~--- p
