MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
OF BOARD OF ALDERMEN
CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI
APRIL 6, 1993
A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City
of Riverside, Miawouri was held in the City Hall in
Riverside, Missouri on April 6, 1993 at 7:30 p.m. Those
present wars Wedue, Testers, Karr, Rule and Marshall. Mayor
Betty Burch called said meeting to order.
It was decided to dispense with the reading of the
Minutes of Mnrch 16, 1993, for the Aresent time.
Gary L. Dodson, 605 NE 98th Ter., Kansas City, MO
present®d business license application for Mid-America
Power Driver et 420 Riverpark Lene. This is for distribution
of Hydraulic Components. There will be some retail. Th1a
wee approved aub~ect to their obtaining a salsa tax number
and payment of the fee.
Orval Ruth, '7901 N. Stoddard, Kanaea city, MO 64152
presented special use permit, change of use permit and
business license for Riverside Auto Service et Riverside
Street and NW Gateway.
Rule moved thnt the special use permit for Riverside
Auto Service of Riverside be approved, aub~ect to the
regulations on th• permit, i.e. that there will be no
dismnntled or parts of wrecked vehicles parked on th• outside
of the building, seconded by Wedue the vote was Marshall,
Wedun, Teters, Karr and Rule, yes.
Rule moved that the Change of Uae permit be approved,
seconded by Karr, the vote was Marshall, Wedue, Teters, Rule
and Karr, yea.
The Business License for Riverside Auto Service of
Riverside was approved subject to furnishing the City with a
Snles Tax number, and the payment of the fees.
David Cone, 906 NE 104th Ter., Kansas City, MO 64155,
presented business license application for Alpha Laser
Printer et 4613 NW Gateway Center. This is for the retail
sales of Laser Printers. This was approved subject to the
their furnishing a salsa tax number end the payment of the
fee .
Dennis Bierman, 4413 NW 65th Street, presented business
license application for Superior Coffee and Foods at 4108 N
Riverside Street. This was approved aub~ect to the payment
of the fee.

Karr moved that Bill No. 93-19 be placed on its first
reading, said Bill provides for the Finnnca Committee to go
out for bide on (31,000,000, seconded by Rule, the vote was
Marshall, Rule, Knrr, Tetera and Wedue, eye.
Marshall moved that Bill No. 93-19 be placed on its
second reading, seconded by Wedun, the vote waa, Marahnll,
Rule, Karr, Tetera, and Wedue, aye. Whereupon, the Bill
having been made available for public inspection prior to
the consideration of the Board of Aldermen, Bill No. 93-19
was passed.
Marahnll moved that the overtime for the Public Safety
Department as presented by Chief Bayless for th• month of
March, 1993 be approved, seconded by Wedue, th• vote waa
Tetera, Wsdue, Karr, Marshall and Rule, yea.
The following bide were received on Trews.
Platte County Enterprise, Inc., 91 trees, 1-1/2",
88,775.00 (guaranteed for one year). 2" trees 811,434
(guaranteed for one year>.
Holsinger Nursery Co., 91 tress, 2", 812,950.00
(guaranteed replace 1/2 price first year).
Neshun Nursery, 1-1/2" - 1-1/4", 91 trees, 810,190.40.
Karr moved that we necept the bid of Plntts County
Nursery, which appears to be the lowest end best bid, in the
sum of 811,434, for 91 2" trews, seconded by Rula, thw vote
was Tetera, Karr, Wsdue, Marahnll and Rule, yea.
The following bids were received on the patching of
streets in Riverside:

Seal-O-Matic Paving - 89,402.
The following bide were received on striping parking
K. J. Striping, Inc. 8285.00
Airless Striping Company 8276.11
Karr moved that we accept the bid of K & G Striping,
which appears to be the beat bid for the sum of 8285.00,
seconded by Wedue, the vote waa Karr, Wadua, Marshall, Rule
and Testers, yea.

The following bide were received on sweeping the
streets:
David Purcell - X85.00 par hour
Delta Sweeping - ~pt1800.
Karr moved that May 6, 1993 be proclaimed as Prayer Day,
seconded by Wedun, the vote was Wedun, Tetera, Karr, Rule and
Marshall, yea.
Nayor Burch said that North Kanaaa City has sent
Riverside a copy of their resolution protesting Kansea City,
Missouri's rezoning of "Harlem" to a "Red Zone" area end has
requested Riverside to loin with them. A discussion was had
concerning this mutter.
Marshall moved that the City loin with North Kanaaa City
in n resolution opposing the "Red Zone", seconded by Rule,
the vote was Karr, Tetera, Wedua, Marshall and Rule, yea.
Chief Bob Beylesa said that he hea looked over several
applications for a part time dispatcher and he suggest that
the City employ Tabb Reese.
Karr moved that Bill No. 93-20 be placed on its first
reading, said bill provides for the employment of Tabb Reese
as Part Time Dispatcher, seconded by Rule, the vote was Karr,
Rule, Wedua, Tetera and Mnrshall aye.

Kerr moved that the City place two loads of gravel on
Klemm Road, seconded by Marshall, the vote was Karr,
Marshall, Rule, Tetera and Wedua, ys$.
Wedua said that the bell park lights needs eleven light
bulbs to be replaced.
Karr moved that the City furnish the light bulbs only
and someone alas will replace them, seconded by Wedua, the
vote was Wedua, Rule, Tetera, Marshall and Karr, yes.
Mayor Burch said that the City has had some very good
offers on th• River-Boat Gambling and the Committee will
report bock to the Bonrd on the information they have.
Mayor Burch announced that there will be a Regular Board

Board, upon motion duly made, seconded and passed, the
