MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF
BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI
JUNE 15, 1993
A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City
of Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hall in
Riverside, Missouri on June 15, 1993 at 7:30 p.rn. Those
present were Aldermen Teters, Karr, Marshall and Aust; Wedua
and Rule absent. Mayor Betty Burch called said meeting tr_.
order.
It was decided to dispense with the reading of the
minutes of May 18, 1993, June 1 and June 8, 1993 far the
present t i rne.
Albert J. Cuda, 6940 NW Prairie View Raad, Kansas city,
MO 64151 presented a Special Use Permit and Business
License Application far second hand store or thrift store at
4435 NW Gateway (d/b/a Riverside Flea Market).
Alderman Karr moved that the Special Use Permit for
Riverside Flea Market be approved, seconded by Alderman
Marshall, the vote was Aldermen Teters, Karr, marshall and
Aust, yes; Aldermen Wedua and Rule absent.
Merilyn Brenner, 5111 NW Northwood Road, presented the
Application to serve Beer and Wine on Friday evening at the
City Park far the Republic Women's Carnrnittee meeting (only if
it rains>.
Alderman Aust moved that the Liquor Application far
Merilyn Brenner to serve beer and wine at the Republic
Women's Committee meeting at the City Park, on June 18, 1993,
seconded by Alderman Marshall, the vote was: Aldermen Aust,
Marshall, Karr and Teters, yes; Aldermen Wedua and Rule
absent.
Kenneth Farris, 2406 Alabama, Lawrence, KS, presented a
revision of his Firework's Application. he said he cannot
use the building at 2506 NW Platte Road and will have to set
up a tent. He said the building is leased to Gary hall and
he is using it for storage. His Tent will be 36'x40' and
will be on the grass area.
Alderman Marshall moved that the City accept the
revision of Kenneth Farris' Firework's Application at 2506 NW
Platte Raad, seconded by Alderman Karr, the vote was Aldermen
Karr, Marshall, Teters and Aust, yes; Aldermen Rule and Wedua
absent.
Lisa Parson, 7903 NW 79th Place, KG., MO 64152 presented
an up-grade on her Business License Application (Central
State Mortuary) at 4437R NW Gateway. She would like to go
into the crematory business.

Alderman Aust maved that the City approve the up-grade
of Central State Mortuary at 4437R to include a Crematory
business, seconded by Alderman Marshall, the vote was:
Aldermen Marshall, Aust, Teters, and Karr, yes; Aldermen Rule
and Wedua absent.
Gary Brenner^, representing the Park Board said he would
like to talk to the Berard regarding purchasing same par^k
equipment and renew the application to reserve the park. It
was suggested that the deposit not be refunded. Another
matter discussed was that an ordnance should be passed to
close the park from dusk to dusk. He would like per^missian
to purchase play ground equipment for the Burn of X7519.27,
this would be far a slide at the Renner park and a charcoal
grill at the gazebo. He said that in order to qualify for a
grant, this request has to be approved by the City.
Alderman Karr moved that the City apprave the request of
Gary Brenner to spend X7519.27 far equipment far the City
Parks, i. e. slide and grill, seconded by Alderman Aust, the
vote was: Aldermen Aust, Marshall, Karr and Teters, yes;
Aldermen Rule and Wedua absent. ~~ ~~~~~~
Twa liquor applications were received to se~r~e package
liquor an Sunday, one from Red-X and the other from Quick
Trip.
Alderman Karr maved that Red-X and Quick-Trip's
application to sell package liquor an Sunday be approved,
seconded by Alderman Marshall, the vote was; Aldermen
Marshall, Teters, Aust and Karr, yes; Aldermen Rule and Wedua
absent.
The minutes of May 18, 1993 were read and approved as
corrected.
The minutes of June 1, 1993, were read.
The minutes of June 8, 1993, were read and approved as
corrected.
Chief Bab Bayless said that Mike Shelton has made a fire
inspection of all the apartments in the City and the Managers
were very cooperative and are willing to make all the
corrections suggested by Mike Shelton.
The 1993-1994 budget was discussed.
Alderman Karr maved to put Bill Na. 93-29 on its first
reading, seconded by Alderman Aust, this Bill provides far
the appropriation of money out of the genet^al fund of the
City of Riverside, Missouri far the payment of certain
indebtedness as listed therein. The vote was as follows;

Alderman Aust, aye; Alderman Teters, aye; Alderman
Marshall, aye; Alderman Karr, aye; Alderman Rule, absent; and
Alderman Wedua, absent.
Alderman Karr^ moved that bill No. 93-~9 be placed on its
second reading, seconded by Alderman Teters, and the vote was
as follows: Alder^man Aust, aye; Alderman Teters, aye;
Alderman Mar-shall, aye; Alderman Karr, aye; Alderman Rule,
absent; and Alderman Wedua, absent. Upon the bill having
been read two times by title and copies of the bill having
been made available for public inspection prior to
consideration by the Berard of Aldermen, Bill No. 93-29 is
passed.
Rlderman Karr moved that the City pay the expense of
twenty dollars 020.00) far each Rlderman and Mayor far the
trip to Alton, IL on June 25, 1993, seconded by Alderman
Mar^shall, the vote was: Aldermen Marshall, Teters, Wedua
and Karr, yes; Aldermen Wedua and Rule, absent.
There being na further business to came before the
Board, upon motion duly made, seconded and passed, meeting
ad~aurned at 10:50 p. m.
