June 14, 1989
Wednesday, 3:15 p.m.
Members of the Board present were: Jim Wedua, Janet Keating,
Gary Brenner and Jim Karr as a alternate.
Mr. Dan Peak appeared on behalf of ELCA,and was present
on a variance for a building at the Platte Valley Industrial
Park.
The required setback of 25' needs a variance on 85' of his
front footage to 5 feet. He is asking for a 20' variance.
This is mainly needed because of the cul-de-sac.
Janet Keating asked about entrances (doors) facing the street
especially in the variance area. Mr. Peak said that final
plans may a show a required fire exit or a exit with a return
sidewalk back to the parking area, but did not know of any at
this time.
The building can't be moved south due to the railroad track.
Mr. Peak explained the strict letter of the ordinance would
provide "unnecessary hardship" shown by the encroachment
of the cul-de-sac comprising only a small fraction of the
total plan.
Janet Keating moved to grant the variance of no more than
20' only at the widest point of the cul-de-sac. Jim Karr
seconded. Motion passed.
