BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI
JULY 27, 1993
An emergency meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the
City of Riverside, MO was held 1n the City Hall in Riverside,
Missouri on July 27, 1993, at 5:30 p.m. to discuss the flood
situation and when the business people can start cleanup.
Those present were Aldermen Tetera, Kerr, Marshall, Rule and
Auat; Wedua, absent. Mayor Betty Burch culled said meeting
to order.
Mayor Burch said that there are several business people
wonting to get to their businesses and she wants to know what
should be done about this. Should only certain people be
able to go into the flood area, and who should that be.
Peeler wnnta to go to hia business every so many hours and
also some other people want to get their records out.
Another problem is the people with hazardous materiel,
the City would like this matter to hove preferred
attention.
Chief Bob Bayless said that there is an 8:30 curfew.
Winston Peeler and the Sent Company, at the present time,
are the only two people that have requested to go into the
flood area. The Seat Company would have to have divers to
get the dies out of their building which could be entered
through the roof. Winston Peeler would like to go to hia
building to check the material inside.
Alderman Marshall moved that the people with hazardous
material should be allowed to check on the material only
between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. with a pass
which will be controlled by the Public Safety Department,
seconded by Alderman Rule, the vote waa Aldermen Karr,
Tetera, Rule, Marshall and Aust, yea; Wedua absent.
Mayor Burch is to talk to John Brown regarding the Seat
Company and also other business people who want to enter
their place of business.
Mayor Burch will also check with the lumber companies to
see if they are going to pick up their lumber material.
There being no further business to come before the
Board, upon motion duly made, seconded and passed, meeting
adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
