PARK AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD OF THE CITY OF
RIVERSIDE
March'15, 1984
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Peggy DeMoss.
Minutes were read and corrected.
Betty Burch reported the Missouri Cities Water Co. will charge $350.00 to set the
meter at the park. David Brenner stated that there were water lines already on the
property. Betty had eontaoted a local plumber for a bid on two water hydrants and
two drinking fountains. She had this done primarily for the State Grant ahe had
applied Yor. 'the bid was for X2.500.00. This grant will be in the amount of around
X16,000 and will know by the 15th of April if we have been accepted.
We discussed the purchase of the Red Maple trees. We had ordered 5 from the Green
Hills Nursery and had put a deposit of X50.00 down. They had orginally given ua
a price of X75.00 total for planting the trees, but et the time of purchase the
manager stated ahe couldn't plant them at that price. She said Lf we could show
hea the figures she would honor the price, so the board voted to offer her $100.00
and if not acceptable we would plant them ourselves.
Betty t?eported the N orth Kansas City Park Dept's catalogs didn't have what we wanted
in-the way of picnic tables. It was decided we would meet with the City Council ne~dt
Tuesday night, March 20th, to ask that they get bide on the multi-purpdse pad ea soon
as possible eo that we might get the o-thsr park pro~ecta done.
At our April meeting we will prepare a long term plan to present to the council for
the 1984-85 budget.
Our next meeting will be April 12th instead of the 19th.
Those present were Peggy DeMoss, Bob Scudder, David Brenner, Betty Burch and Lorain
Owens. •
