HomeMy WebLinkAbout1984-01-19 Park Board MinutesMINUTES OF THE REGULAR FETING PARK AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE Januery 19, 1984 Meeting was called to order by Chaiman Peggy DeMoss. Minutes a~ere read and approved. It was reported that Quick Trip Store contributed a street light for the city park. Also the corner plantings been planted by Turfs in December at a cost of $495.00. Betty Burch presented a catalog featuring the picnic tables we were interested in for the park. There was much discussion on what type and size tables and grills we wanted. It was decided we wanted a pedestal type picnic table and a single sturdy grill. They would coat approximately $4E5.00 per table and $100.00 per grill. We were considering purchasing 4 tables and 2 grills. Betty Burch volunteered to call other places and get prices on these. Betty also stated there will be some 50/50 Federal or state grants that will be avail- able for parks. She also asked if we would be interested in getting a grant for lighting for the park. David Brenner stated he felt we should not have lighting at the park because of wanting to close the }park by dark. David Brenner sugTested he would be willing to dig up the area where we had cannas lest year for a flower bed this year. The Park Board will meet with the council on March 6th to discuss Park Planning Coals. We were to get comparsion prices for 5 Maple trees by the next meeting. Meeting adjourned at 9:00 P.M. Those present were: Peggy DeMoss, David Brenner, Lorain Owens, Betty Burch and Bob Scudder. ~~~ ~~~~ Secretary
