MINUTES OF REGULAR Mi{ETING
PARK AND RECREATION ADVISORY HOARD OF THE CITY
OF RIVERSIDE
DECEMBER 3, 1982
The meeting was called to order by Vice-president, Peggy DeMoas.
Secretary Lorain Owens read the minutes of the last meeting Thep
were approved• as read.
Alderman Scudder read a letter he had written to the Missouri Div.
of Cammunit~~ and Economic Development concerning the grant system
initiated by the State of Missouri and the methods used in the
awarding of the grants. Copy of the letter is attached.
It was recommended that we ask the city council to appoint a new
member to our board in the absence of Brenda Tetera who has resigned
from the board.
LeAnn Zimmerman, Chairman of Pride and Progress, read a l~toteins~e and
written to J. F. Bosworth of 4221 Campbell, Kansas City, g
to the vacant lot that is adjacent to the Riverside City Park. Copy of
letter is attached.
The Park Board recommends to the council that they hest oandcinypurchesing
check in to matter of finding out who owns this prop y
it for our park.
Alderman Scudder reported the Corp. of Engineers was not planning todo
anything to the Line Creek area that circles our park, so we are again
asking the council if t'•ere is a possibility of doing some work on the
bank adJacent to the park.
' Peggy DeMosa reported there was a possibility of squiring some railroad
hies from United Pacific Railroad sometime in the future.
LeAnn Zimmerman was going to contact the MidAmerica Regional Council
to see if they had an aerial map or plan that we could use to plan an
overall guideline for the park areas in the ,city.
Those present were: Bob Scudder, Peggy DeMosa and Lorain Owens.
