HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004-092 - Service Agreement with Platte County-KCI Convention and Tourism BureauBILL NO. 2004-92 ORDINANCE NO. 2004-92 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE TO ENTER INTO A SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH AND PAY CERTAIN FUNDS TO'THF, PLATTE COUNTY-KCI CONVENTION AND TOURISM BLiREAU WHEREAS, the Platte County-KCI Convention and Tourism Bureau (the "Bureau") is a not-for- profit organization that promotes and markets tourism and convention business in the Platte County region. WHEREAS, the Bureau's promotion and marketing efforts in Platte County includes some promotion and marketing of Riverside attractions, businesses and companies. WHEREAS, the City finds that the Bureau's promotion and marketing efforts benefit the City, and desires to enter into an agreement whereby the Bureau will increase its efforts to promote and market the City, and will cooperate with the City in such efforts. WLIEREAS, the City's Board of Aldermen believes that it is in the best interests of the City to enter into a services agreement with the Bureau. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Board of Aldermen of Riverside, Missowi, as follows: Section 1. The City of Riverside shall enter into an agreement with the Platte County-KCI Convention and Tourism Bureau whereby the Bureau will undertake to promote and market the City and its attractions and businesses to tourists, convention-goers and other visitors, and whereby the City shall pay to the Bureau an amount not to exceed of Fifteen Thousand One Hundred Eighty-Three and 00/100 Dollars ($15,183.00) for such services (the "Agreement"). Section 2. The Mayor is authorized and directed to execute the Agreement, in substantially the form attached hereto as Exhibit A, with such changes as the Mayor shall approve, execution of such document being conclusive proof of such approval. The Mayor is authorized and directed to perform all acts and execute any other documents necessary or desirable to effectuate the intent of this Ordinance. Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect immediately. ADOPTED AND PASSED THIS ~_~~AY OE(~i~" (' ' ~ ~.rr ~ , 2004. ~~' MAYOR O~TIIE CITY OP RIVERSIDE ATTE,~T: i L ~ ~ CI"I'Y CLERK PLATTE COUNTY AREA MARKETING PARTNERSHIP SERVICES AGREEMENT THIS SERVICES AGREEMENT (AGREEMENT), is entered into on the 28`x' day of October, 2004, by and between the CITY OF RIVERSIDE (PARTNER) and the PLAT'f13 COUNTY VISITORS BUREAU (PCVB). IN CONSIDERATION of the mutual covenants and agreements set forth herein, the parties agree to the following: 1. The PCVB shall provide public relations, marketing and promotions services (the Seri ices") for the PARTNER for the year 2004-2005 pursuant to the terms of this Agreement. 2. "1'he PARTNER shall pay the PCVB the sum of $15,183.00 for the SERVICES for the year 2004-2005, with said payment to be made by PARTNER to PCVB on or before December 31, 2004. 3. The SERVICES provided by the PCVB shall include activities reasonably designed for the purpose of promoting and developing tourism within the PARTNER area, including, but not limited to, reasonably assisting the PARTNER in developing goals and strategies related to promoting and expanding the PARTNER's tourism industry through a multi-component plan, including public relations, regional tradeshows, paid media advertising programs, research and tracking efforts, and conversion studies.
