ORDINANCE NO. 2003-115
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT
WITH KANSAS CITY AREA TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY TO PROVIDE BUS
SERVICE THROUGH RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AND SETTING THE CONTRACT
FOR SUCH SERVICE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN FOR THE C[TY OF RIVERSIDE,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with
The Kansas City Area Transit Authority to provide bus service
through Riverside, Missouri.
SECTION 2. The total contract fee shall be $17,000 for the period of
January 1, 2005 through December 31, 2005.

Twelve Month Contract
Kansas City Area Transportation Authority
SERVICE CONTRACT
City of Riverside, Missouri
This AGREEMENT, made and entered into thise~~~~ay of December, 2004, by and
between the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority, a body corporate and politic and a
political subdivision of the States of Missouri and Kansas (the "KCATA"), and Riverside, a
municipal corporation of Missouri (the "City").
TERM: The term of this Agreement shall commence on January 1, 2005, and shall
expire on December 31, 2005 unless extended by mutual agreement of both parties.
2. CONSIDERATION: The City agrees to pay to the KCATA, for the services set forth
herein, a fee of $16,000 payable upon receipt of an invoice, which shall be sent within
one month of contract execution. The City agrees to remit payment for said invoice
within one month of receipt.
3. SERVICES: The KCATA agrees to furnish the following transit service to the City:
Sixteen (16) trips each weekday, of which eight (8) are eastbound and eight (8) are
westbound during the time period of 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 6:30
p.m., traversing A Highway and 169 Highway in Riverside, Missouri.
4. FEDERAL AND STATE CONTRIBUTION: If for any reason KCATA is unable
to obtain the federal and state contribution provided, the City will be immediately
notified and this Agreement will be amended to provide additional City Contribution
or to adjust the level of service. If a satisfactory amendment is not agreed to after a
reasonable period, KCATA's obligation to furnish services will terminate.
5. TERMINATION: The City or KCATA may terminate this Agreement by providing
sixty (60) days written notice of termination. The City's notice shall be given to
KCATA's Director of Specia] Services. The effective date of termination shall be the
first Monday of the calendar quarter following the date of the notification provided
sixty days notice was given.
6. FEDERAL REQUIREMENTS: The City recognizes that the KCATA, as the
principal public transportation operator in the region, is obligated to conform with
various regulations and requirements of the Federal Transit Administration, in order
to maintain its eligibility for financial assistance pursuant to the Federal Transit Act.
In this regard, the City agrees to cooperate with the KCATA in meeting said
regulations and requirements, and will not require KCATA to violate said regulations
and requirements.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have caused this Agreement to be executed
by their duly authorized officers on the day and year first above written.
