Mayor Pur^ch said she wo~_~ld like for the City to pay for^
the Fridge the City is receiving at the Young's Park and
w.=~uld like to set it on railroad ties so that the earth can
be b~.ii It i_ip ar^o~_ind the area befr_,re the br^idge is installed.
This was appr~m~ved by the Poard.
Mayor Bur^ch also=~ wo~_ild like to have appr^eval cif X250.00
f.}r postage tc~ send c~iit the News Letter^. This was appr^~~+ved
by the Bear^d.
Kar^r^ moved that Bi 11 Nr_~, 92-25 be placed r_,n its first
reading, said Pill author^izes the Mayor^ and City Cler^k to pay

l"he Finance Committee r^ecommended the acceptance of

Marshall moved that we accept the recommendation of the
Finance Committee ar~d place fill Nr_~. 92-;?6 on its first
r^eading, said bill provides for the investment r_,f ~196,c69 on
a T Bi 11 with Commerce Tank. with an interest rate of .:,. 81~X

Mayer Burch said that with regard to the sewer^s, and
due t~_~ the fence and back part of the pr^oper•ty, Gale McKeehan
asked if they co~_rld mr_,ve their ~_~tility b~_iilding and she was
told she co~_ild. However, since this would be placed over the
sewer and would have a permanent foundatic~r~, the sewer people
requested that it oat be placed over sewer. The sewer people
w~=~u1d replace the building at a different locati~~~n. The
Mayor wanted to knt~w if the foard would appr•c~ve this r•ather^
than going before the Poard ~_~f Zoning Adaustrnent and also

requested to waive the fee because of the cir^c~_trnstances.

Kar^r^ ntaved that the Hoard waive the fee and appr^~ eve the
var^iance can Gale McKeehan's utility building perrnit,
seconded by Teters, the vote was Marshall, Rule, Karr, Teters
and Wedua, yes; Shepard absent.
Mayer Hur•ch said that Mr^. Pettis was doing some
remodeling at his resident at 375 NW 5th Street and he was
g:~ing tr_. build a deck. It was discr~vered that he would need
a perrnit for the deck. As many of the Plarming Commissicm
members as could be were contacted and poled c~r~ the matter.
It appear^ed that Cher^e was no ~~~pposition to this deck fr^ont
the eight Plarn~ing Commission Members poled. This wo~_tld 6e
br^ought up at the next F~lanning COmni155ion Meeting.
Mayer Hur•ch said she thought that Mr^. Vaughn would do
the engineer^ing for the approach to the Hr^idge at Yo~_tng's
Park at n. ~ cast to the City. She wi 11 check further c ~r~ this.

Mr. Whittlesey has changed his mind r•egar^ding his
pr^ev i ~ ~~_ts r^eq west t o have the sewer c...me acr cuss the road on
Merr^irnac. He will wait until the houses ar^e built and then
make the sewer plans.

City Attorney Don Witt is pr^esent at this time (8:~~ p.
Mayor Hur^ch spok.e with regard to the r^equest of Mike
Purcell t~~ rexc~ne the pr•oper•ty west of Nor•thwc~od Road, fr^ont
its present (Agr:ic~_tltur^al) to Industr^ial. She said that
there would be a group of people from River^side attending
this meet ing, as well as people fr•c ern Ridgewood. The hear^ing
will be at Platte City orr May 1E, 199, at 7:3~ G.M.
Jint Davis, E4Q~4 Qsage Cir^cle, was present r^equesting the
City accept the first phase of his subdivision (Indian Hills
EstatEa). He said they^e ar•e five lots which do not have
sidewalks and he pr^ontised that he will pt.tt in the sidewalks
as •Lhe I•to~.tses ar^e built. He would like the City tc~ give hire
Borne time to sell the lets, build the houses and put in the
s:i.dewalk. This matter^ was discussed. It appear^ed that 36@
days would 6e adequate time fnr•• the sidewalks to be built and
Mr. DeRVi5 agreed to this length of time. Mr^. Davis also

cancer^ning Indian Hills Estate wherein he stated the streets,
sewer^s and constr~_icti..r. of the improvements comply with the
engineering plans ac•~cepted by the City. A letter from
L<rrrFcin and ASS>O(:_1citE3s regar^ding Indian Hills F_states was
r^er_eived, wher^ein it confirmed Strr^veyor^ Sam Aylett's letter^.
A letter^ fr^c~m Fred Wilk.en cif the Ci1:y of River^side was also
r^eceive~d, wher^ein he r^econtrnended acceptance of the fir^st
please ~~f the Subdivision ~~f Indian Hills Estates.

Mayc~r^ B~_rr^ch said that the Mayor^'s Association rnet with
.7er^r^emiah Finnigan and that he will make an intervention on
the Misso~_ir^i Cities Water^ Company's request for^ an increase
ire its rates. This will cost each of the six Cities he
represent ~40.73E. It was agr^eed that Mr. Finnigan ask.
Mexico, Misso~_rr^i, to ~c~in in the inter•ver~tion.
Knappca Corp. has r•eq~_rested that Mattc~x Road be
repair^ed.
Corr^e~;pondence ~Fr•~_~rn Dan peak. was r^eceived r^egar^ding a
meeting an MARC's st~_~dy c.f 4~ Highway will be held on May 18,
1992.
The Mayor^ sp~_~ke to the Boar^d concerning the sewer^
c~~nstr^uc=tiara and said she has sever^al people wanting their'
yards resc~ded where the-~ sewer' people have placed the sewer
line. This matter•• was disc~_rssed and the type of sad to be
r^eplaced will be checked into.
Karr rnaved that the City check with the City Engineer'
and City Attc~rr~ey Dan Witt to see if it is the City's
r^esponsibility to r^esod these areas and if it is, auth~~rize
the City to gc~ ahead as necessar^y, secr_,nded by Mar'shall, the
vote was Teter^s, Mar•stiall, Wed~_ra, Kar^r^ and R~_rle, yes; 5hepar^d
absent.
The matter of employing a City M~_rnicipal Judge was

wer^e ti~o~sght to be the best applicants will be checked into

Maintenance Per^son were r^eceived: Dan Lee Mi ller^ and Rick
Hedger_ock. This matter^ was disc~.issed.
