These present were Wedua Teter^s, Karr, and Marshall. Shepard and R~_tle were absent. Mayor^ Betty B~_~r^ch called said meeting to order^. It was decided to dispense with the r^eading cif the Min~_ttes cif A~_tg~_tst 18, 1992 and September 1. 199 far^ the pr^eser~t t i rne. Sam Barth 844 NW Atkins Co~_trt, Kansas City, MU 64153, r~r^esented a b~_tsiness license application for Swan Frozen Food Distrib~_tt~~~r. The B~.tsiness address is 6135 Kelly Drive, Par'I•rville, MO. This is fc~r delivery of fr^ozen food to residents who call in order^s. This rnatter^ was discussed and it was felt that this co~_tld not be allowed beca~_tse of other people possibly want t~~ par^k. their vehicles on the par^kinq lot. Mayan B~_trch said she wot_tld find a place for her to par^k. the vehicle. Mayor Burch announced that the Riverside C'learr~_tp Days wo~_tld be October 9, 1~ and 11, 1992 and October' 16, 17 and 18, 1992. It was r^e ported that the ph~~me ser^vice for^ the Municipal Cot_trt Clerk's Office has been completed and the number is 741-1c12. Mar^shal l moved that Bi 11 N~_~. 92-52 be placed on its first reading, said Bill provides for the apprc~pr^iation of money out of the General F~.tr~d of the City of River^side, Misso~_tr^i frlr' the payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein, seconded by Karr^, the vote was: Wedua, Teters, Kar^r^, and Mar^shall aye; Shepar^d and R~_tle absent. N.ar^r rnc~ved that B i 1 1 No. 92-52 be p 1 aced on its second r^eading, seconded by Wed~_ta, the vote was Wedua, Teters, Karr' and Marshall aye; Shepard and Rule absent. Wher^e~_tpor~, the Bill having been made available for' public inspecti~~n prior tc ~ the consideration c ~f the Board ~~~f Alder^men, Bi 11 No. 92-52 was passed. A letter fr^orn Stan Tiller^ of 1612 Bell, Freernor~t, Nebraska was read, this per^tained to the firework deposit which was pasted and Mr. `filler req~_tested that this be r'ef~_tnded. This matter' was disc~_tssed and upon the r Min~_rtes of Reg. Meeting, F~age c, 9-1~-9 r^ecc~rnrnendatis.n of Chief Bc~b Bayless, it was decided not to r^ef~_rnd the rncrr~ey. Gar^y Wahl will be patching the str^eets as soon as passible. It was r^eported that Jirn Davis will repair' Woodland Road, when^e it intersects with St. Joe Bo~_ilevard. Karr saicl that it was r^epor^ted that the fi 11 ing which Winst,~~n peeler^ was doing west of his b~_rilding sho~_rld be checked into. Karr^ said that the people at the er~d r_~f NW Vivir_,n Road were cleaning gasoline trucks and this should be checked into. Marshall inquir^ed if Beemer Construction people were coming back. tr_. the city and Mayor Burch said that they will be corning back. r^eg~_ilar^ly tr_. check c~r~ different places of their installation of the sewers. Chief Bayless said that Gladstone will be having a Fire Fighting Schc~r_,1 October 13 ~_rntil the testing on November ~4 and 25, 199'c', the cost wo~_~ld be `~S~~D. ~0 per person, pl~.rs br_~oks, and would like to recommend that Dennis Janes attend the school. Mar^shall moved that Dennis Jones attend the Fir^e Fighting Schor_,1 at Gladstone, Miss~-r~_ir^i, Octr_,ber 19 to testing on Nc~vember^ c4 ar~d :5, 199`, seconded by Karr^, the vote was Mar^shal.l, Karr^, Teters and Wed~_ra, yes; Shepard and Marshall absent. Chief Bayless said that concerning an incident at the Misso~_rri River Br^idge, Rev. Kr^~_reger talked to Derrel Karr and T~~~m Ar^chibald, as well as a Dep~_rty Sheriff fr~~~rn F~latte Coi_tnt y. Chief Bayless said that he and Mike Shelton want to show i' a video on a piece of fir^e fighting eq~_ripnrent which they Miry. Req. Meet ing - Page ,?, - 9-15--9:-' lr_,oked at and which thought it wo~_ild be ver^y aoprooriate for the City of River^side. Mayor^ Pur^ch said she did not wish t~~~ see the vide=~ and left the meeting at 9:~.c, a. m. Kar^r^ was Mayor^ F'roTem ire the absence of Mayor P~_rr^ch. Chief Payless and Mike Shelton pr^oceeded to show the video and explained hr_~w this eq~_~iprnent wr_,~.rld be very ~.rsef~_~1 ire the City, because of the overhead extensi~_~n it had, the capabilities it has as a p~_~rnper ar~d also beca~_rse c.f the size of the vehicle. This would be able to enter^ any of the c~_rl- de-sacs in Riverside and t~_~r^n ar^o~_rnd without backing. They also said this eq~.ripment was in ver^y gr_"='d condition and it appeared tc~ be priced r^ight, ~145,~~5~. This rnatter^ was disc~_rssed ar~d everyone felt this was a ver^y good piece of equipment which wo~_ild be very well ~_rtilized iri the City. Mayor^ F'r^oTem Karr and the Wlcler^men thanked Chief Payless and Mike Shelton for^ their^ effor^ts made in checking into the fire eq~_ripriient.
