HomeMy WebLinkAbout1991-03-12~~ /' -'" C OF REGULAR MEETING OF BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF MARCH 12, 1991 Meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Sri was held in the City Hall in Riverside, 12, 1991, at 7:30 p.m. Those present were .Ball, Teters, Karr, and Shepard; Rule and Richardson Mayor Betty Burch called said meeting to order. It was decided to dispense with the reading of the minutes of March 5, 1991 for the present time. Mayor Burch said that an Application for Change of Use, Liquor License Application and Business License were given to Chuck Isley to complete and would have to go before the Planning Commission. Mayor Burch said that she would ask City Attorney Don Witt to check the liquor license Ordinance to see if a Social Club License is available. If there are two Social License for the City, then there would possibly be one available. A discussion was had concerning an employee who was injured while there was no Workers Compensation Insurance in effect. Mayor Burch said she would like to have a definite plan for the area south of No. 9 Highway concerning the levee and feels that this complete plan will be forth coming in approximately one month from today. Concerning hauling on the Streets in the City, Mayor Burch said that all information collected and suggestions concerning this Ordinance has been forwarded to Don Witt, Cfty Attorney and when his suggestions are received, Mayor Burch will call a meeting of the Committee and discuss same one more time before presenting to the Planning Commission and then to Board for Adoption. Concerning the Charley Stewart property, it was decided to contact Don Witt to proceed with the necessary documents to clean up the property. It was brought up that Don Trailer Sales has moved. The Blasting Ordinance has been given to Mike Shelton for his review and comments. Mayor Burch said that they are working on the Woodbridge people to clean up the outside of their building, mostly concerning the pallets. Mayor Burch said that Fred Wilken will continue to monitor the Green Terrace Trailer Court for the Trailer Park to continue cleaning up the area and electrical matter. r Minutes of Reg. Marshall moved that City Attorney Don Witt be instructed to proceed with vacating the City Park in Jfm Davis plat, seconded by Shepard the vote was Karr, Teters, Marshall and Shepard, yes; Rule and Richard absent. Mayor Burch asked if the City should amsnd the mapping and zoning changes to the Zoning Code so that it will be up-to-date. At the present time there are two changes. Karr moved that the Mapping and Zoning Code should be revised on an annual basis, seconded by Marshall, the vote was Marshall, Teters, Shepard and Karr, yes; Richardson and Rule absent. It was decided to have the clean-up for the City in April and October. Mayor Burch suggested that this be on two week-ends, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 19, 20, and 21 - April 26, 27 and 28. It was suggested that the people dumping will be checked for information that they are residents of Riverside. It was felt we could have an employee do the monitoring with the help of Pride and ProgreBS people and possibly could save money. A notice to this effect will be put in the news letter. Mayor Burch said that a proposed law is going through the House in Jefferson City concerning selling liquor on St. Patrick's Day and wanted to know whether the City would be willing to go along with whatever the State decided. Marshall moved that the City follow the State of Missouri's ruling on whether or not to sell liquor on St. Patrick's day, Sunday, March 17, 1991, seconded by Teters, the vote was: Teters, Marshall, Karr and Shepard, yes; Richardson and Rule absent. It was brought out that in not too long the State will require every County to have a Solid Waste Program, and rather than start our own, it was decided to go in with the County or District. It was the consensus of those present to join a district for Solid Waste materials. It was suggested that since Dick Grogan is retired, he may be able to monitor the sewer project when it is started. Mayor Burch said that they have 47 Sewer Easements prepared this week. There being no further business to come before the Board, upon motion duly made, seconded and passed, meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m. ~-c. 7~ r
