Overview
Riverside Department of Public Safety is in the mist of upgrading its radio system to become one of the first
outside agencies to join into the Kansas City Missouri Police Department's new radio system. As part of that
upgrade the city authorized the upgrading of the communications unit to provide new communications
furniture.
After extensive research Watson Furniture Group, Inc, DBA Watson Dispatch was selected to provide two
Synergy dispatcher consoles to replace the generic office cubical furniture the communications center is
currently using.
Watson Dispatch has been building communications furniture for over forty years and is one of the largest
manufactures in the United States. Several agencies in the Kansas City area recently purchased Watson
Dispatcher furniture, MAST Ambulance being one of them.
This furniture is designed to be high stressed for a 24/7 emergency response environment. Their product meets
ergonomic and ADA standards where the furniture can be lifted from a seated to standing position to
accommodate the operators ability to sit or stand while working their position.
Watson Dispatch is a contractor to the Mid - America Regional Council's Regional Purchasing Cooperative and
the HGAC Contracts. Their contract number is EC07 -07. No bids were sought because of this relationship
with MARC.
Total cost for two dispatcher positions is $30,848.68 which includes installation. Attached are two graphic
showing the configuration and profiles of the furniture.
