City Clerk Memo
To Whom It May Concern:
Please note, as of April 7, 2010, the ordinance numbering has changed. For many years the Bill Number
and the Ordinance Number have remained the same number, which seems easier for staff to follow but
the problem there being, if a bill does not pass as ordinance the Ordinance Numbering will not be in
chronological order. This could leave researchers wondering where the missing numbers are to be
found. One could assume lost, forgotten, or skipped. By keeping Ordinance Numbering in sequential
order only being assigned when a bill is passed will solve this dilemma. Therefore during Board
meetings a bill will be passed by a first and second reading as approval to become ordinance. A number
will be assigned following the meeting by the city clerk.
The Bill Numbering will not be affected and will remain in the same format.
