AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE SITE SURVEY COSTS PROPOSED BY JOHN F.
LUTJEN & ASSOCIATES, INC. FOR SURVEY WORK RELATED TO
CONSTRUCTION OF THE PROPOSED PUBLIC SAFETY FACILITY
IN THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI
WHEREAS, the City of Riverside, Missouri ("City") is planning and investigating the
construction of a new public safety building (the "Project"), and will need to secure surveying
services for the Project (the "Surveying Services"); and
WHEREAS, the City requested and received multiple bids for the Surveying Services;
and
WHEREAS, at its September 17, 2002, special meeting the City's Board of Aldermen did
approve the bid of John F. Lutjen & Associates ("Lutjen")for the Surveying Services; and
WHEREAS, Lutjen has provided the City with a letter proposal detailing the costs and
services approved by the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside,
Missouri, as follows:
Section 1. The City of Riverside shall employ Lutjen to perform the Surveying Sewices, and
shall pay to Lutjen an amount not to exceed $9,985.00 for such Surveying Services which are
described as Option 2 and Option 3 in the proposal attached hereto as Exhibit A (the "Proposal").
Section 2. The Proposal, in substantially the form attached hereto as Exhibit A, and payment by
the City for the Surveying Services described therein, is approved, and the Mayor is authorized
to take such actions reasonably necessary to carry out the intent of this Ordinance on behalf of
the City.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and
approval.

Dear Mr. Jackson:
Please find following our revised estimated proposal for a site survey on the proposed
new Public Safety Facility for the city of Riverside.
This proposal will be in three parts per the letter from Hoefer Wysocki Architects, dated
August 15, 2002.
Option 1 -Limited Survey Approach
Provide complete as-built survey of the Seafarer Entertainment and Allied Trades
Union Property bounded by Cliffview Road, Vivion Road, and the existing city
campus. This survey will include topography (1-foot contour), location of utilities,
easements, location and boundaries of the existing Labor Union Building and
other site appurtenances, and the legal description of the property.
The fee for Option 1 will be in the amount of Two Thousand Eight Hundred
Seventy Dollars ($2,870.00).
Option 2 -Comprehensive Survey Approach
Provide a complete survey of the Seafarer Entertainment and Allied Trades
Union Property plus the existing City Hall, Community Building /Pool, and Public
Safety Buildings. Survey will include topography (1-foot contour), all utilities,
easements, location and boundaries of the existing Labor Union Building and
other site appurtenances, and legal description of the property.
The fee for Option 2 will be in the amount of Seven Thousand Seventy Five
Dollars ($7,075.00).

The fee for Option 2 will be in the amount of Seven Thousand Seventy Five
Dollars ($7,075.00).
Option 3 -Construction Survey
Cost for construction staking and layout of permanent control points /lines
for reference. Work to include grade staking, building location, curb lines,
and as-built survey update at the conclusion of new construction.
The fee for Option 3 will be in the amount of Two Thousand Nine Hundred
Ten Dollars ($2,910.00).
We will be able to complete the survey for Option 1 or Option 2 within 15 working
days of your Notification to Proceed, weather permitting. We will require a copy
of a current title policy with copies of all exception documents before completion
of this survey.
Should you wish to retain our services for this project, we will provide you with a
formal agreement.
