AN ORDINANCE PLACING A THIRTY MORATORIUM ON THE
ACCEPTANCE OF APPLICATIONS FOR AND THE ISSUANCE OF
BUILDING PERMITS FOR MODULAR UNITS IN THE CITY
OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI
WHEREAS, the City has promulgated certain zoning regulations and restrictions for
modular units.
WHEREAS, the City and its officials are currently considering an expansion of the
regulations applicable to the construction of modular units.
WHEREAS, in order to properly consider, study and refine this proposed expansion, the
City desires to place a temporary moratorium on the acceptance of applications for, and the
issuance of, building permits Cor any modular units in the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Board of Aldermen for the Cily of Riverside,
Missouri, as follows:
Section 1. No building permits shall be issued for the erection, construction, enlargement,
alteration, repair, improvement or conversion of a modular unit, as the term is defined in Section
405.070 of the City Code, within the City of Riverside until thirty (30) days after the date of the
passage of this Ordinance, and no applications for a building permit for any modular unit or
manufactured home shall he accepted by the City during such period. Neither the Riverside
Planning Department nor the Riverside Planning Commission shall consider or review any
building permit for any modular until the thirty-day period described above shall have expired.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect immediately.
