HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001-004 - Payment of Funds to the Salvation ArmyBII.L NO. inn ~ _04 ORDINANCE N0. =~~ J < ~ f AN ORDINANCE AUTHO$.IZING THE CTT'Y OF RNERSIDE, MISSOURI, TO PAY CERTAIN FUND$ TD THE SALVATION ARMY WHEREAS, the City wishes to provide assistance to organizations providing public services within its boundaries. WHEREAS, the charitable organization known as the Salvation Army was unab[o to meet its goals related to fund-raising and contributions necessary to continue to provide services within the City. WHEREAS, the Salvation Army was instrumemal in the transfer of land for use related to the E.H. Young Park. WHEREAS,-the City of Riverside has the capability and desire to assist the Salvation Army in cotttirnring to provide services to the public within the City_ NOW, THEREFORE, BE ZT ORDAINED, by the Board of Alderman of Riverside, Missouri, as follows: Section Z. The City of Riverside shall pay to the Salvation Army Ten Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($10,000,00} to assist it in continuing to provide services to the public within the City_ ection 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to ensure that a check in the amount described in Section 1 is dratted and presented to an authorized official of the Salvation Army. Section 3_ The sections, paragraphs, clauses, and phrases of the Ordinance are severable and if any portion. of the Ordinance is declared unlawful by the valid judgment, decree, or injunction order of a court of competent jurisdiction, such ruling shall not affect any of the remaining phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs, and sections of the Ordinance and all provisions of the Ordinance not specifically declared to be unlawful shall remain in full force and effect. ection 4.
