ORDINANCE NO. '~~~~
AN ORDNANCE AUTHORIZING THE CTIY OF BIVEIt.SIDE,
MISSOURI, TO PAY CERTAIN FUNbS TO THE CITX OF
HOUSTON LAKE,I4IISSOUR7, FOR FIRE PROTECTION
R'HEREAS, Missouri State Statute Section 313.812 directs cities wherein gaming facilities such
as excursion gambling boats are located to establish a plan fbr proposed revenue sharing with other
municipalities.
~Ht~:RF.AS, the City wish to use part of the proceeds it receives from the gaming facilities
located in the City to provide assistance to communities surrounding it.
'WI'[EREA$, the municipality of Houston Lake, Missouri, is a surrounding community which the
City desires to assist.
WHEREAS, the cost of fire protection in the Southern Platte Fire Protection bistrict has
increased and the City desires to help Houston Lake pay these incrrdscd costs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT ORDAINED, by the Board of Alderman of Riverside, 1Vlissouri,
as follows:
e i n 1, The City of Riverside shall pay to the municipality of Houston Lake, Missouri, Three
Thousand Nme Hundred and One and 00/100 Dollars ($3901.00) far use in paying for fire protection
provided by the Southern Platte Fire Protection District.
Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to ensure that a check in the amount
described in Section 1 is drafted and preserved to the clerk or other authorized official of the municipality
ofAouston Lake.
echo 3. The sections, paragaphs, clauses, and phrases of the Ordinance are severable and if
any portion of the Ordinance is declared unlawful by the valid judgment, decree, or itrjunction order of a
court of competent jurisdiction, such ruling shall not aged any of the remaining phrases, clauses,
sentences, paragraphs, and sections of the Ordinance and all provisions of the Ordinance not specifically
declared to be unlawful shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect immediately.
