HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001-054 - Amendments to Ordinance 2000-92BILL No.o?0®/-~ i,,f ~_ ~~ ORDINANCE NO. -~ r .: !' ._ AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1.3, DEFINITIONS, AND SECTION 4.8, WORK DONE WITHOUT A PERMIT, OF ORDINANCE NO. 2000-92, AND THE CORRESPONDING CODIFIED SECTIONS IN THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE RELATING TO PERMITS FOR WORK IN PUBLIC WAYS WHEREAS, the City of Riverside is charged with protecting, maintaining and developing public ways within the City, and WHEREAS, the City has in place procedures for obtaining permits to engage in certain activities in public ways, and WHEREAS, there are certain activities that are of a very limited scope, and WHEREAS, the City desires to allow that certain limited activities may be conducted without a permit; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Aldermen of Riverside, Missouri: Section 1. Section 1.3, Definitions, of Ordinance 2000-92 and the corresponding codified section in the Municipal Code of the City of Riverside is amended to add a definition of Minor Work: "Minor Work" means only routine service operations in the Public Ways; Section 2. Section 4.8, Work Done With a Permit, of Ordinance 2000-92 and the corresponding codified section in the Municipal Code of the City of Riverside is hereby amended to add a Section C which shall read as follows: SECTION C: MINOR WORK EXCEPTION The Administrator may, upon submission of a written detailed explanation of the specific nature of the Minor Work to be performed, determine that a Construction Permit is not required in connection with Minor Work. The Administrator will consider the following in making such a determination: a. No excavating of the street pavement will occur. b. Not more than one excavating of other Public Way will occur. c. The work is being performed on Facilities already in place in the Public Ways. d. No conduit or other similar Facilities are to be installed. 1 .ACLIENTSV61492V0001 G\K0199495.DOC e. The work is performed in connection with service to existing customers. f. The work does not disrupt, hinder, or delay open passage or traffic for more than a total of four (4) hours. g. The history of the person performing such work and related restorations in a responsible and timely manner. h. The health, welfare and safety of the public. Section 3.
