HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001-066 - Temporary Moratorium on the Issuance of Liquor LicensesBILL NO. 2001- ORDL'~'A1~CE NO. 2001- AN ORUL'~ANCE PLACING A NINETY DAY MORATORIUM ON THE ISSUANCE OF LIQUOR LICENSES OR PER.'vIiTS U1'DER CHAPTER 600 OF THE CODE A>\'D ON THE 1SSUANCE OF SPECIAL CISE PERMITS Ul~'llER CODE SECTION 445.060, ADLrL1' ENTER'T'AINMENT, WITHIN TtiE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI V-~~REAS, the City desires to consider and aci to limit the various adverse secondary effects which accompany adult entertainment businesses and liquor establishments while ensuring that the lawful rights of expression and enjoyment and use of property are protected. W!-IEREAS, the City and its officials aze currently considering various proposed or sample ordinances which would amend the current ordinances in place in the City regarding adult entertainment businesses and liquor establishments. V6'I~REAS, in order to properly consider, study and refine these proposed ordinances, the City desires to place a temporary moratorium on the issuance of permits or licenses provided in the City Code for adult entertainment businesses and liquor establishments in the City. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Board of A{dermen of Riverside, Vf.issouri• ctio No applications shall be accepted, and no pcrmits and/or licenses shall be issued, under Section 445.060 of the City Code nor pursuant to Chapter GOO of the City Code, until 90 days after the date of the passage of this Ordinance.
