AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE NINETY DAY IvIORATORIUM
ADOPTED JUNE 26, 2001 PROHIBITING THE ISSUANCE OF LIQUOR
LICENSES OR PERIVIITS UNDER CHAPTER 600 OF THE CODE AND
THE ISSUANCE OF SPECIAL USE PERMITS UNDER CODE SECTION
445.060, ADULT ENTERTAINMENT, WITHIN THE CITY OF
RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, UNTIL NOVEMBER S, 2001
WHEREAS, the City, for approximately the past sixty days has engaged in consideration
of recommendations, plans and efforts to limit the various adverse secondary effects which
accompany adult entertainment businesses and liquor establishments while ensuring that the
lawful rights of expression and enjoyment and use of property are protected; and
WHEREAS, the City is charged with ensuring, protecting and safeguarding the health,
safety and welfare of the residents of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City, in order to ensure the most complete and effective safeguarding of
the public health, safety and welfare of the City's residents, wishes to secure further time and
opportunity to fully consider and study the various proposed ordinances related to adult
entertainment and liquor establishments by extending the ninety (9U) day temporary moratorium
on the issuance of permits or licenses provided in the City Code for adult entertainment
businesses and liquor establishments in the City which was adopted June 26, 2001;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Board of Aldermen of Riverside, Missouri:
Section I. No applications shall be accepted, and no permits and/or licenses shall be issued,
under Section 44.060 of the City Code nor pursuant to Chapter 600 of the City Code, until after
November 8, 2001.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect immediately.
