MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF B3ARD OF ALDERMEN
CITY OF RIVERSIDE, Ml'SSOURI
JUNE 13, 1989
A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of City of
Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hall in Riverside,
Missouri on June 13, 1989,~at 7:30 p.A~. Those present were
Aldermen Teters, Karr, Shepard, Rule c:nd Richardson, Kuhlman
absent and Mayor Betty Burch called sai.:',. meeting to order.
It was decided to dispense wyth tc•~cs reading of the Minutes
of May 16, May 30, and June 6, 19139, fo: the present time.
Joe Ciro, 3320 NW 59th Street,. Kansas City, Missouri
presented a Business License Application for Three Star
Automotive at 2506 NW Platte Road for the sale of used cars and
trucks. He also presented a Special TJse Permit for the said
business.
Rule moved that the City approve the Special Use Permit
for Three Star Automotive, seconded by Teters, the vote was as
follows: Teters, Karr, Shepard, Rule and Richardson voted aye;
Kuhlman absent.
The Business License for Three Star Automotive was
approved subject to the payment of the fee.
Michael Lomaka, 6060 Clare Road, Shawnee, Kansas,
presented a Business License Application and Special Use permit
for Skyline Restaurant.
Rule moved that the Special Use Permit for Skyline
Restaurant be approved subject to obtaining a Health
Certificate from the County Health Department and a Sales Tax
Number, seconded by Karr, the vote was as follows: Teters,
Karr, Shepard, Rule, and Richardson voted aye; Kuhlman absent.
The Business License for Skyline Restaurant was approved
subject to the presentation of a Health Certificate from the
County Health Department, a Sales Tax Number and payment of the
fee.
Mayor Burch announced that the City was turned down on the
~~~~ Fi~G Grant for the Sewers and have nvt heard concerning the
Grant of Department ~f T city wil again apply for
th~eq ~~~G7rant. ~ G~~~,
~J Mayobr Burch reported on the Scoti. property and said that
there are several bidders and feel if `here is an extension of
30 days, the property will be sold an~i something done with it.
The sixty days will be up on this week: end.

The highest bidder on the Scott's property will come to the
meeting on Tuesday and explain what his intent is concerning
the future of the property. The Mayor and Board felt it would
be for the better of the City to extend the time on the Scott's
property.
Teters expressed her appreciation for the City letting her
attend the seminar on Thursday and Friday. She felt she had
learned very much. Richardson also extended his appreciation
for the benefit of attending the seminar.
Teters and Richardson gave many of the highlights of the
meeting and suggestions which were made, such as an inspector
cannot go on private property; it takes four aldermen to pass a
motion or bill; that the fuel tax received by the City is to be
used on the roads in the City, etc.
Richardson suggested he would like to have some cards
printed for each of the aldermen stating their name, address
and what ward they are in.
Rule moved that the Public Safety matters be tabled until
the next meeting, so that it would give the Aldermen an
opportunity to read the information received from Chief Fred
McDaniel, seconded by Richardson, the vote was as follows:
Teters, Karr, Shepard, Rule and Richardson voted aye; Kuhlman
absent.
A recess was called. Meeting reconvened. The roll was
called and Aldermen Teters, Karr, Shepard, Rule and Richardson
were present, Kuhlman absent. Mayor Burch presided over the
remainder of the meeting.
The Budget for 1989-90 was discussed.
Upon motion made, seconded and passed, eting adjourned
at 9:35 p.m. ~
