1999 - 64 - Acquisition of Certain Lands
Bill No. 99-64 Ordinance No. 99-64 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING THE ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN LAI\iDS AND ALL ASSOCIATED APPURTENANCES AND IMPROVEMEN'CS AND APPROVING ACTIONS AND DOCUMENTS RELATED THERETO. WHEREAS, the City has approved the L-385 Levee Redevelopment Plan, as amended ("Redevelopment Plan"), to redevelop the Redevelopment Area (as defined in the Redevelopment Plan); and WHEREAS, the development of the Property (defined below) is critical to the successful implementation of the Redevelopment Plan; and WHEREAS, the ~~ity is authorized, pursuant to the Real Property Tax Increment Allocation Redevelopment Act, RSDdo Section 99.800 et seq, and the Redevelopment Plan, to acquire property to achieve the objectives of the Redevelopment Plan; and WHEREAS, the City desires to so acquire the real property described at Exhibit A (the "Property") which Property is located within the Redevelopment Area; and WHEREAS, the City desires to make an attempt to reach agreement for purchase of the Property as hereafter provided; BE IT ORDAINEiD BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMAN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Tliis Ordinance and the acquisition of the Property is intended and is hereby determined and declared to be necessary to accomplish, serve and achieve the objectives of the Redevelopment Plan. Section 2. A~i offer in the amount of $1,900,000 to acquire the fee ownership interest in the Property by negotiation is approved. Section 3. Tlie Mayor, the City Administrator, the City Attorney and other appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to take any and all actions as may be deemed necessary or desirable to carry out and comply with the intent of this Ordinance and to execute and deliver for and on behalf of the City the offer letter, a contract for purchase, all certificates, instruments, agreements and other documents, as may be necessary or desirable to effectuate the intent of this Ordinance. Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
