AgreeResolution No. R - 2010-029 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE TO ENTER INTO A SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH AND PAY CERTAIN FUNDS TO UNITED SERVICES COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCY WHEREAS, United Services Community Action Agency ("Service Provider") is a not-for-profit corporation providing services, including certain health, emergency and safety services ("Services"), to residents of the Kansas City region, including the City of Riverside (the "City"); and WHEREAS, Service Provider desires to continue to provide such Services and requires funding to continue to provide the Services within the City; and WHEREAS, the City finds that the provision of the Services is a public purpose and the City has the capability and desire to assist Service Provider in continuing to provide Services to the public within the City; and WHEREAS, the City's Board of Aldermen believes that the City's best interests are promoted and aided by entering into an ag reement with the Service Provider for the provision of the Services; and WHEREAS, The City and the Service Provider have negotiated and agreed upon an agreement for the Service and payment for the same; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Aldermen of Riverside, Missouri, as follows: THAT the City finds that the provision of the Services contributes to the welfare of the City as well as the economic and social potential of the City and its residents, that the Services are important to the welfare of the City and that the provision of funds to assist in providing such Services are for a public purpose; FURTHER THAT the City of Riverside shall pay to the Service Provider the sum of Fifteen Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($15,000.00) to assist it in continuing to provide services to the residents of the City and the City, pursuant to a Services Agreement, in substantially the form attached as Exhibit A, which is hereby approved; FURTHER THAT the Mayor is authorized and directed to execute the Services Agreement in substantially the same form as set forth in Exhibit A attached hereto. The Mayor and city staff are authorized and directed to perform all acts and execute any other documents necessary or desirable to effectuate the intent of this Resolution. That Sarvioo Provider shall provide the Service9 f+pr the City purauant to iha terms oPthis Service Agreement for a term of one yeaz cmnmencing on July !, 2010 and anded June 30, 2011. 2. That the Services provIded by the Ssrvice Frovider shall iaalud0, buE not be llmited to, the provtaions of rent, nutritlonat assistanca, medical assiatance, schooJ supplies and senior citizen services. 4. Service ProvIder wi11 provide the City with a copy of Service Provider's annual budget with a briaf summary of the accountitig controls used. Further, expenditure reports are reqUired on a morrtiily or quarterly hasis and a final expenditure report is required within 90 days after the monies ere spent.
