MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE. MISSOURI
APRIL 26, 1988
A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside,
Missouri, was held in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri on April 26,
1988, at 7:30 p.m. The roll was called and Aldermen Burch, Kuhlman, Wedua
and Shepard were present; Karr and Eckard absent. Said meeting was called
to order by Mayor Betty Burch.
It was decided to dispense with the reading of the Minutes of April 19,
1988 for the present time.
Mayor Betty Burch announced that the meeting was for the purpose of
appointing someone as Treasurer and Assistant City Clerk on a temporary
basis until a permanent one is employed. Mayor Burch said she would like to
recommend Jean Grogan. Jean Grogan would be willing to be the Treasurer and
Assistant City Clerk on a temporary basis. Mayor Burch said that City
Attorney Don Witt recommended that the offic~ should be separate from the

Shepard moved that we accept the Mayor's recommendation to hire Jean
Grogan as Treasurer and Assistant City Clerk to become effective April 26,
1988, and that same be bill No. 88-34 and placed on its first reading,
seconded by Wedua, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Burch,
Kuhlman, Wedua and Shepard voted aye; Karr and Eckard absent; said bill was
accordingly read.
Burch moved that Bill No. 88-34 be placed on its second reading,
seconded by Kuhlman, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Burch,
Kuhlman, Wedua and Shepard voted aye; Karr and Eckard absent.
Wedua moved that Bill No. 88-34 be placed on its third reading and upon
passage of same become Ordinance No. 88-34, seconded by Shepard, the roll
was called and votes were as follows: Burch, Kuhlman, Wedua and Shepard
voted aye; Karr and Eckard absent, said bill was accordingly read, attached
hereto and made a part hereof, approved by Mayor Betty Burch and became
Ordinance No. 88-34.
Mayor Burch said that she has been working with the owners of the
property on High Drive, where the motor cycles and dirt bikes have been
racing. She said that she has gotten in touch with the attorney handling
the property matter and they will appoint someone to represent them to sign
the warrants.

Kris~MA Aust, on behalf of Pride and Progress said they plan on
purchasing 20 Bradford Pear Trees to plant along the City's streets and is
i\ asking people to adopt a tree. She would like to see the City match the

amount of trees by purchasing 20 trees.
Wedua moved that the City accept the recommendation of Kris Aust and
adopt 20 Bradford Pear Trees to be plantlong the City's streets a~°places
shown on the diagram presented by Kris Aust, seconded by Burch, the roll
was called and votes were as follows: Burch, Kuhlman, Wedua and Shepard
voted aye; Karr and Eckard absent.
Wedua reported that the air (yanditioning and heating system have been
installed in the City Hall, however, due to having to move the electrical
power further than anticipated for the system, it~cost approximately $123.00

There being no further business to come before the Board, upon motion
duly made, seconded and passed, meeting adjourned at 8:05 p.m.
